Crusty Fun! Smile Jul 30, 2013

Went to visit my grandma who lives all the way at the opposite end of where I live with my cousins and one of them was craving for pizza so we went to the nearest Pizza Hut!

We ordered the Ocean Catch to share and I absolutely love everything about the pizza from pizza hut!
The crust is thick, fluffy, spongy, and greasy at the same time! Baked in a deep pan with high sides, this pizza is really good! A tasty selection of tuna, shrimps, squids, pineapple, tomato which sits on a bed of cool lime mayonnaise sauce. The explosion of a variety of taste in your mouth is absolutely mama-mia-ish! lol tongue

Do try this flavour if you're going to the restaurant as it's a epitome of a perfect pizza which leaves you craving for more!

Healthy! Smile Jul 30, 2013

This brand has slowly established itself over the years as people got more and more healthy, always looking for the healthier option in their food choice. Soups are one of the easiest things to ingest but the preparation that goes behind it takes hours. To prepare a soup broth and is able to distinct yourself from the normal soup, the chef has invested a lot in discovering the different types of soup that’s nutritious for the different parts of your health.
I ordered this soup, not too sure of its health benefits but I love how it’s sweet and salty enough at the same time. They are also very generous in wanting to serve the best to their customers, as they will scoop one whole ladle of ingredients specially to go with the soup. ALSO! THERE’S FREE REFILL! But I wonder how many of us are actually thick-skinned enough to keep going back for more refills.
Pairing the soup with rice is a simple and nutritious way to have a meal. IF you want more, switch to the pumpkin rice which is even more nutritious and power-packed than the white rice to enjoy your meal.

VERY GOOD! Smile Jul 30, 2013

This was the most number of dishes I ever ordered from a nasi padang stall. I ordered 3 vegetables, and 2 meat! HAHA! It was really funny too see the shock on the macik’s face as she saw this girl ordering more and more! I had a reason though, I was sharing with a friend so I was given the liberty to order whatever I want!
I chose the brinjal, spinach and ladyfingers for my vegetable and sotong and beef rendang for the meat.
The smell was absolutely amamzing! Vegetables all tasted really good as usual due to my love of vegetables. All of it tasted really fresh and not extremely spicy. The sotong was a tad too spicy for me but I was able to ingest it as the rice made it less spicy. Even if it’s way too spicy for me I’ll still swallow it happily as it was really good! Lastly, the main ingredient that I really like is the beef rendang. I love how the beef is really soft and in small cubes for easy ingestion. The gravy that accompanied it had a very strong distinctive taste which leaves you wanting for more!
If you’re ever in this area, stop by to try the malay food! With the friendly service from the macik and this absolutely tasty food, you won’t regret wasting some calories here!

Spending per head: Approximately $8

Not too bad OK Jul 30, 2013

Was hoping to try get some quick Japanese food at Isetan (which always seem to be holding Japanese food fair) but was met with a Thailand food festival fair instead. Wasted not time in grumbling, as Thai food is one of my other favourite cuisines. The space that they have didn’t really have allow much on the spot demonstration as many were selling ready-made items. I spotted a queue nearer to the middle of the fair and decided to check it out.
The chef was cooking some glass noodles/rice on the spot for the customers. I was hooked! I ordered a chicken glass noodle ($5) and was charged $6 instead. The cashier pasted the wrong sticker on my box and quickly apologized, refunding a $1 to me without any hesitation. Good service!
The glass noodle was soft and fragrant; there were also a generous serving of chicken and egg. A gripe that I had is that there should be more vegetable!
Other than that, for such a fast meal, it was quite good.

The baby ribs here are absolutely amazing. Drenched in Chili’s famous sauce and slow cooked to perfection. The meat is really soft and juicy, easy to pull apart from each bone along the ribs. Every mouth of these ribs brings you closer and closer to heaven as you chew the meat without much effort.
You’re allowed to choose 2 side dishes for the main course. I chose their classic French fries and corn on the cob. The fries were piping hot when served, filed with potato; it was really fat and nice! The corn is wonderful too, showered in butter and baked slowly, it leave a nice residual taste in your mouth. It is not overly buttered but if you’re on a date, you may want to avoid this as eating corn can get pretty mess. A trick that I always use is to use the knife to grind the corn out, like a corn grinder. Moving your knife as though you’re cutting a piece of meat. You not only look lady-like/man-like,, you can impress your date without looking like a pretentious person/a barbarian.
This place gets pretty busy during lunch/dinner hours especially on Friday-Sunday as people come out to play. You may want to call in for reservations to avoid the long queue.
