I think i should be the promoter for Siam Kitchen as I absolutely love their food! (minus their drinks, not a big fan of it.)

This time, we ordered the Kang Kong with Chilli and Shrimp Paste ($7.50) and Grilled Honey Marinated Boneless Chicken ($12.90)
Both of which are local favourites and could be found at almost every street corner in Bangkok! (The menu claims! haha!)

The spiciness of the Kang Kong was bearable and it's not exceedingly spicy. However if you have a friend that can only eat minimal spicy stuff, I suggest that you ask the staff for less chilli. The less chilli version might taste better as it won't burn your tongue and make the rest of the night unbearable!

This honey marinated chicken was quite alright, I like the sauce more than the chicken itself! HAHA! I think the Thais always come up with the best sauce. Hence they can always get just one dish and eat with Jasmine rice and not get bored of their food!

Ingenious! smile As always, I will definitely come back to Siam Kitchen from my daily fix of Thai food!

Mom's birthday! Smile Jul 29, 2013

Bought a cake from royal cakes for my Mom's birthday! Similar to the logcake size. They also allow you to sample the flavours before buying! (really good scheme!)

This is the coffee cake as my mom loves coffee! I love this cake a lot even though I'm not a fan of coffee flavour. It was really really soft, as though I was eating tofu! I also like that the flavour wasn't overpowering but a nice taste that lingers in your mouth even after you've taken your last bite. There was also this thin glossy layer of jelly which was really nice to eat! This will be the place I'm going to go to get cakes for my friends during their birthdays! smile

Matcha Yum! Smile Jul 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

I found myself craving for the thick hot matcha at MOF the other day and decided to make a quick walk over during lunch hours.

I merely ordered this hot Matcha and sipped it lightly while reading my book as though I was some rich woman with all the time in the world to watch the world go by. As the soft japanese music play overhead and it wasn't a very busy day, I felt like i was in Japan! haha!

I love the hot matcha here as they are really really generous in giving the matcha powder. Nearer to the bottom, you can clearly see the large amount of matcha powder, one pot could most probably brew about 4-5 times! (although I believe it is not advisable to brew the same packet of tea too many times!)

Do head down and try the hot green tea if you want to have a relaxing place to chill!

Dainty Crodos Smile Jul 29, 2013

Pasarbella at the Grandstand seems to be an up and coming place, I saw people taking wedding photos in there! And this marketplace kind of store had only revamped itself recently! It has a very rustic feel where you'll definitely feel like you aren't in Singapore.
I heard many reviews and saw many instagram pictures reviewing these crodos and I had to try it for myself!

Chocolate Crodos ($4.90)

I think this was already the last few left from the batch of the day as after I bought one, the next person who came swept up all the remaining 3. Lucky me! This hybrid baby born from a croissant and donut tasted really brilliant! The chocolate was really smooth and ooozes out, engulfing your whole mouth with rich and thick chocolate, talk about sinful indulgence!! I like that the crisp surface still tasted really fresh and was quite flaky, baked to perfection!
I envision that this will be the next food fad as it's really awesome and the love such hybrid foods!

100 points! Smile Jul 29, 2013

I love vietnamese food for its no frill and easy dishes. You know what you want exactly and go in and order. Quick and Fast!
We bought takeaway which was really fast also! My friend claims that the queue here during lunch hours is crazy long, so it must be good!
We got there around 5 plus which was between lunch and dinner hours so there wasn't anyone around and the service was really fast!

We ordered the spring roll platter ($7 nett) which comes with both shrimp fresh rice paper roll and deep-fried minced pork rolls. I never like vietnamese spring roll as I don't like the lemongrass or minty taste in it. Boy! This really changed my opinion! I love every bit of it!! The deep-fried minced pork roll was also really nice, it was juicy and it didn't feel like I was eating pork!

Main dish:

Pho Sliced Beef ($8.90?). The soup was absolutely delicious (I think this is one of my top 5!), the noodles were soft and silky, the beef was really tender and easily chewed. My only gripe was that there's no bean sprouts. I love beansprouts in my pho and sliced onion just doesn't cut it as well. Still, I had no trouble polishing it off as it was really really awesome! I would love to sit in the store and enjoy my pho whilst listening to the store owners chit-chat in their local dialects.
