Chanced upon this rustic little eatery whilst deciding on what to have for lunch the other day. I was attracted by the many promotions that seem to scream out on the little chalkboard that they have standing at the door.

There was a 1-for-1 lunch promotion going on if you dine with a friend! *SQUEALS* HOW GOOD CAN THINGS GET!

Popped into the place and after looking through the menu, the dishes were all highly priced. So glad for the promotion!

I ordered the 200G salmon which came with 2 side dishes. I picked the garden salad and carrots in cream sauce. The extra cup was the gravy for the salmon.I absolutely loved this dish! The salmon were bursting with flavour with the sauce and it was a huge chuck of meat. The carrots in the cream sauce was also really special! I'm not too sure what they used in the cream sauce but it was really good! Garden salad was alright, couldn't really taste the dressing as i was more interested in my salmon and carrots. OOPS! Nearly forget the mashed potato! I liked that although it was a little mashy, i could still taste some bits of potato in it! haha! I think this is really worth the price even though it's a little pricey. With the 1 for 1 deal, it makes it even cheaper! The normal price for the salmon was $19.00. My friend chose a dish with a slightly cheaper price and so our total bill each only amounted to roughly $12? For the chill ambience of the place and the thick slab of meat they gave, I think this place is really worth a visit!

Bought a discount voucher from deal.com.sg for $7.90 which included a Pie + Mash Potato + Salad + Fresh Brew! I think it was so worth it as the pie was REALLY REALLY GOOD!!!!

I wanted the Seafood Laksa Shepherd as I thought it was the most unique one but they have already ran out of it. PLEASE BAKE MORE!!
So I ordered the Lamb Shank:WOW! i was truly amazed! The crust was flaky and crisp where once you sink your teeth into it, it felt like your tastebuds found true love. It was so magical! I felt like I was eating something that angels made! The lamb itself was really soft and juicy. I like that the pie was able to hold these kind of meat that needed sauce to pair with so as to enhance the taste. But the lamb shank did not need much sauce as it just melts in your mouth!
The mash potato was really awesome too. It was light and fluffy and you won't feel sick of it as the gravy was really nice.
I also like the salad that had this really special dressing, it's like a little sour but sweet at the same time. Really interesting sauce!

They also gave an ice cream and I chose the chocolate flavour. I felt that it was too sweet although it tasted a little like milo which was pretty good. But too much of it makes me sick. Luckily they had free flow water (self-serve) so you can take as much you want to wash down the sweetness.P.S you're also allowed to take a cookie from the counter for your tea! (Free-flow)

Guess what! I went home and quickly bought my vouchers so as to try out the other pie flavours! haha!

I'm not too sure of the origins of this place but it seems to have been taken over by the enterprise guru "Kopitiam".
Place was lit up really brightly even during daytime and the chairs and tables look very clean and sparkly. However, I think they cater to small families as the tables were quite small. Ordered the bitter gourd with fish soup (cost about $3.50?). I think it is not too bad. Clear soup and abundant veggies inside. Anchovies were quite crunchy too. The fish was quite fish as well, and there's no fishy taste like the previous reviewer had mentioned. I guess they probably changed vendors too as the aunty who took my order was very cheery!

I will try other items at the store next time round!

I was still unable to try the Laksa Shepherd Pie like i wanted to but I tried the Wagyu Beef Cheek this time round, and OMG. Mind-blown. Who in the world created this heavenly dish!!?

Wagyu Beef Cheek:I cut a hole in the middle this time round so that it's more obvious what's the filling inside. You can see the thick cut of beef check being shown in the picture which was equally good as the lamb shank, if not better! The sauce in this drenched the bottom of the skin of the pie a little but it is forgivable as it's way too good! Like my previous visit, the mashed potato was still as good and the salad at the side was equally superb! This time round the salad dressing was more sweet than sour (which i liked better!)

Vanilla Ice Cream:It's as sweet as the chocolate flavour! Didn't really like it but I didn't want to waste it so I finished it and gulped down almost two glasses of water to decrease the sweetness flowing through me! HAHA! I absolutely love this eatery and will be coming back to utilize my vouchers gleefully!

My friends and I wanted to try this Thai Food place along coronation road the other day, but unfortunately, it was closed ): We begin walking towards Island Creamery which was further down the road but chanced upon this Thai food place which serves western food as well. The aroma that was wafting out of the eatery beckoned us towards it like a bear to honey. The friendly lady owner waved us in with a menu, very prepared to serve us! Upon knowledge that we were students, she quickly presented us with the student menu where dishes were a few dollars cheaper than the normal price.

The eatery has 2 levels, the top floor is a tiny space which can sit roughly 15-20 people while the bottom level housed a much bigger space. As we were complaining about the scorching heat, the owner informed us that the top level has air-conditioning! Yay! The tiny space was quite dark (hence the bad lighting of the photo) but pictures of Thailand was plastered on the walls which created an unnatural "Thai environment".

The food came fairly quickly after we placed our orders. I must say I was a little skeptical about the taste of the food as the food came almost instantly. I ordered the Seafood Phad Thai ($6.50) and I must say I'm truly impressed! The noodles are cooked to a perfect texture. They aren't mushy and too soft but a perfect consistency that gives just the right amount of resistance when bitten into.The chef uses just the right amount of tamarind, fish sauce, and other spices to flavor the phad thai. I did not add the lime as I prefer the original taste of the noodles and I particularly did not like sour foods. The sauce was not too sweet nor spicy (chilli flakes were provided to add a stronger spicy flavour!). The dish also had a generous amount of bean sprouts, squid, peanuts and tofu. A miss for me was that the prawn was not the crunchy type that I like. However, the overall taste of the dish was really excellent!

All in all, the place is extremely easy to locate (right behind a bus stop before coronation plaza, next to a bicycle shop) and the food is really awesome! It is right to say that the phrase "never judge a book by its cover" is highly applicable to this eatery. I will definitely want to go back to try the other dishes!
