Categories : Korean | Food Court

This store is one of the stores in the food court of JEM. Situated at the uppermost floor, the food court boosts a large variety of different cuisines. From mini hot-pots to korean, it seems larger than the normal food court at other shopping malls.

After walking around the food court twice, I decided to try the korean stall as I could see them slowly brewing the ddeokbboki (korean rice cakes) at the counter! The steam that was rising from the pot felt like a tiny volcano waiting to erupt! Upon deliberation, i decided to try the hot stone bulgoli with vegetable soup ($7.30). I did not pick the ddeokbboki as it was about 5 rice cakes with cup noodles type of noodle for about $5.90 or so which i felt wasn't that worth it.

I choose the with with beef (option of chicken/beef/pork). The picture doesn't do the food justice as it was really good! I think it was worth the price. Just felt that there should be a tad less pepper sprinkled in so that I can taste the sweetness of the beef. As it was a vegetable soup, the vegetable was in abundance. They also added glass noodle in and I felt that for a small eater like me, I could do without the rice. The kimchi as a side dish also woke up my tastebuds and left me craving for more! It was not extremely spicy and was refreshing at the same time.

I also really like the auntie as she was a Korean (strong accent!) I asked for some sesame seed on my rice and she gladly obliged and while I was taking my cutlery she gave me even more! So generous smile

Although the food were mostly on the pricey side at that food court, I would go back to try this korean stall after I've finished trying the other stalls as the service and food they provided was really top notch!

Pizza Hut is definitely one of my favourite joints to go to to satisfy my pizza cravings! As promised, I came back to pizza hut to try the student lunch special the next day! Talk about loyalty. Haha! The server brought me to a window seat this time and I must say that the seat location added to the relaxing ambience of the non-peak lunchtimes. It was a really nice feeling to watch the world go by with the recent light pop songs playing on the music player overhead as I dug into my pizza!

I ordered the BBQ chicken supreme pizza this time. I love how the crust is soft yet crispy. The pizza was dotted with pineapple chucks, green and red capsicums and topped with chicken chunks, ending up with a generous pour of tangy BBQ sauce. The melty cheese on it added to the sweetness of the dish. (I enjoyed my pizza with a large amount of cheese flakes placed in a bottle on the table).

My student meal also came with the garlic bread. The core of the bread was soft and smooth while the outer part was crispy. It was also pipping hot when it came. I left 1 as my dessert and surprisingly, it remained crispy even after awhile!

I decided to go with the traditional coke choice this time. As i've mentioned before, I prefer plain water to soft drinks so I don't really have a preference for types of soft drink. It was good that it was free flow though! smile

The pizza set meal is cheaper than the pasta at a price of $6.90. With such affordable price and impeccable service, topped off with the great location of the restaurant, I truly look forward to my next visit to Pizza hut!

YUM!

YUM!

WHERE CAN YOU FIND SUCH A HUGE JUG OF SUGAR CANE JUICE! and only @ $3!
Sugarcane juice was so refreshing after eating so much oily food! Especially if the food is spicy, it is a complement to quench the fire in your mouth!
I had to share this huge mug of sugarcane with my friend as it was wayyyyy too big although it is very yummy!

I will definitely go back and order more next time when i head down there! (: yummy!!

went to foodfare for dinner at quite a late hour.
I wanted to try this stall's shredded chicken with mushroom noodles but sadly, they don't have anymore mushrooms ):
I felt that the aunty was quite pushy! She will probably be a good saleslady. Promoted her chicken rice at first but i said i don't want rice, then she told me to try their roasted chicken noodles instead, and after a moment of pondering with some of her persuasive words, i succumbed.

I asked my more veggies and since they were probably closing soon, she gave me.. 2-3 strands more.. LOL.
I thought the yellow noodles were OK. It felt like she just barely cooked it, as if the moment it was cooked, she took it out.
Chicken was nice. Left a nice taste in my mouth (: Skin was ok, not on the crispy side and had a layer of fats on it. The gravy was a tad sweet but if you mix it up with the yellow noodles, i don't think it'll be that obvious. I didn't try the chilli as i didn't feel like taking spicy stuff during dinnertime (will try it the next time if i can get my shredded chicken with mushroom noodles!)
The noodles also came with a bowl of soup, which i thought was quite redundant as it tasted like MSG soup.

In conclusion, it is quite an OK dish and will be able to satisfy your craving if you feel like eating roasted chicken!

Tried this ban mian upon recommendation by a friend.
Boy, it was the mother of all ban mians around!

The uncle who was cooking it was so efficient! Cooking up to 4 bowls at one go! The main attraction of this store is the ban mian, so they sell ban mian just with different kinds of mian to choose from (you mian, mee hoon kway, and a few others). I think they also had dumplings too.

The ban mian was chewy and springy at the same time! Think it was probably homemade. Soup was so nice!!!! it had this distinctive taste which i can't put my hands on. Felt like it was cooked with charcoal or some special ingredient. No MSG, sweet and simple soup. It has this very homely feeling, like it was cooked with love and some magic potion. The anchovies were fried till it was very crispy; i also like it when it soaked up the soap and was less crispy. Uncle also gave a lot of veggies upon request.

NOTE: I was told that the chilli is quite spicy and yup! it is indeed very spicy! so if you're a daredevil, please request for more!

This store has been around for over 20 years and it's still going strong! Proves how awesome the ban mian is! Head on down to try it! You won't regret it!
