Kaisen Anakake Nabe: $23.90

This set consists of Salmon Nabe (a type of soup-base), crabmeat salad, chawamushi, rice, soup, and a beautifully shaped fried fish cake. I like the crabmeat salad the most out of the whole set! haha! The salmon nabe was not too bad, salmon was a little too thin for my liking and as it was about$25 in total, I expected a bigger cut. The fried fish cut although pretty, was not very good as it was deep fried for too long. Making the skin a little hard. I couldn't identify what was on the rice (purple flakes) but i think it's some sort of sour ingredient? Tasted a bit funny.

I love how the set meal is always this lunch portion where I share almost share amongst 3 of us and we only need to add 1-2 more side dishes.

Spending per head: Approximately $15

Real Sushi Craving OK Jul 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Really had to eat some sushi the other day! I didn't waste any stomach space ordering the ramen, side sishes, etc.

Devil's Maki ($12.99)
This sounds really interesting and at first I thought it would be flaming hot. But nope! This maki came in a set of 8 and consisted of salmon, cheese, cucumber and lady's finger. Salmon sashimi was slightly seared, i like how it's like half cooked and half-raw.

Cheese Maki ($4.29)
I like the cheese and prawn combination. Both of my favourite food! smile The crepe also added to the delicious-ness of the sushi.

Salmon Mayo Maki ($4.29)
This was a new dish, salmon mayonnaise in beancurd skin. Not very special but if you like salmon, do give it a try! smile

SUSHI CRAVING SATISFIED!

tough; too sweet Cry Jul 29, 2013

I ran across the street when I smelt the awesome smell of cinnamon wafting through the air as i got close to the mrt station. Following my nose, I spotted the words churros and I made a mad dash!
Ordered the Regular Churros Cup ($3.90) and shared with my friends. Oh my, I was disappointed. It didn't melt in my mouth and it was close to being tough and being difficult to pull apart. They allowed us to add a free topping and we chose the chocolate flavour. It was way too sweet when paired with the sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on. They shouldn't allow the option of adding toppings, it's like trying to "hua4 she1 tian1 zhu2"(add something without the necessity of it).

I was very disappointed and I hope they can make fresher batch or change their batter so that it doesn't harden quickly.

Tried this relatively new stall after being indecisive about what to eat. At this stall, all the dishes are steamed, hence the name. I was quite excited about it as it seems to be a real healthier option from the other oil-laden food court food!
I was quite disappointed that the dish is quite salty! I ordered the steamed tofu fish paste with brown rice ($3.90 + $0.80)
The brown rice was quite good, fragrant and delicious. It's not too mushy and you can see each distinct rice.
The tofu was too salty not my liking but I think as a new stall, they may be still trying out their level of this and that dish so I may go back to try their other signature dishes!

Macaroni  OK Jul 29, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Multi-Cuisine

My family and I were going away for a long holiday and we decided to eat at this eatery as we will most probably not be able to find these food overseas! It was breakfast hour so it was a little packed and I think the staff were a little stressed as they seem frustrated. This made most customers jumpy as most of us, if not all, had a plane to catch and I don't think we appreciate the loud anxious voices in the morning.

I ordered the chicken macaroni as I wanted something hot but not too much/too little. The serving size was just right (for the moment) but if I was eating it as a meal, I would've wanted more to fill my stomach. There were a lot of vegetables but the chicken seems to be missing.. I only saw some of it down at the bottom of the bowl. I think I prefer the one where I ate at the previous time. Or perhaps, I was fairly bothered by the wait staff that I wasn't able to enjoy my meal properly.

I think the next time round, we'll probably head over to other eateries to avoid these waiters.
