Sometimes I really detest myself for succumbing to this super sweet drink. But I couldn't resist!

Ordered the honey milk tea without pearls [$2.90] (self-deceit that it's healthier).

There was a very distinct taste of sugar even after I changed the order to one that was even lesser sugar than the previous order also as I felt that it was still too sweet. Apparently even low sugar level doesn't mean no sugar level! False advertising! The ice takes up almost half off the cup which was a bad way to give less "ingredients" by adding more water.
Nothing really stood out and I felt it was a noraml cup of bubble tea compared to the others.

Aromatic! Smile Jul 30, 2013

I never realized that Choa Chu Kang had such nice food! From the simply Baker Talent which is cheap and good to the ananas cafe which serve $2 chicken rice, this can be considered a small food haven to diners!

Further down the mrt station that's outside a jewellery shop is Pie Kia (a cheeky pun! haha!). As I walk through the place, I could smell the freshly baked pies! It seems to get sold out pretty quickly as they have a promotion now (buy 5 get 1 free). I guess this makes it faster to clear too.

I got 3 different flavours, 2 of the same thing each. Ham and cheese, black pepper chicken and roasted chicken.
They all more or less tasted the same but they were all really good! I like that the filling stays intact and not drop all over the place even though you've bit into it. The crust was also flaky and crispy. If you eat it immediately, the filling inside is still very hot!

It's definitely good for breakfast as it's not too heavy but you still get to fill your stomach with these little pies!

Feed me Sugar! OK Jul 30, 2013

With the arrival of Krispy Kreme in October, I decided to get my fix of doughnuts before my appetite for them starts increasing till I couldn't control!

Green Tea Donut: The green tea donut was really true to its name. It tasted just like I was drinking green tea itself instead of eating it! The cream was quite thick and although it stuck to my hand while I was maneuvering it, it was an easy lick off of my finger!

My favourite! Cookies and Cream: I can never resist anything that's made of cookies and cream. It's like bringing me back to relive my childhood again. I would prefer if they had more "cream" part on it although the cookies part made up for it. This felt a little more oily than the green tea one.

Nevertheless, both these doughnuts were really good and I hope J.CO donut will still survive even with the opening of Krispy Kreme.

P.S. Donut = American shortened way; Doughnut = British way of spelling

Was rushing for a movie and the service staff were taking their own sweet time which infuriated me! I was a little anxious already and their slow-motion service was seen as twice as slow by me. Luckily the manager was all smiles and told me they're doing their best to whip up the dishes.

I ordered the SenLek Neua - $12.90 (Stick Noodle with Sliced Beef in Beef Broth)

It was quite.. bad. Luckily the beef was still soft and chewy and you can clearly see the small bits of beef floating around in the soup. But I prefer the Vietnamese version of it as this version really lack a distinct Beef noodle taste.
As I couldn't finish my meal and the movie was starting soon, I quickly asked the waiter to pack my food for me. Cue the slow motion music please. I was waiting with my bill in hand at the door when he hurriedly pass me my leftovers and apologized.

This dish was not very good, unless you want to try something for the sake of trying. But the service (but some staff) made up for it.

Spending per head: Approximately $13

Bring me to thailand! Smile Jul 30, 2013

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Curries | Kids-Friendly

From Siam Kitchen to ThaiExpress, Singapore is no stranger to Thai food. I, of course, want to try every thai food establishment there is in this tiny island

Poo Phat Pong Kari (Ric with Soft Shell Crab, Egg, and Onion Curry) - $12.90 (Description on the menu says that this dish was created by a thai and japanese chef for their wedding dinner!)
How romantic is that! Creating your own food at your wedding!

I love the combination of these 2 cuisine as both of them are contending for my most favourite cuisine. The amalgamation of these 2 cuisine together is an angel's gift for mankind. The soft scream crab was soft and the sauce that was poured along it made it either softer and more flavourful. Did i mention that i ove this combination!
The Jasmine Rice was also very fragrant. I often wonder what type of rice they use to cook such a nice-smelling rice.

Eating the soft shell crab together with the rice was a very good experience!

Spending per head: Approximately $14
