Green Tea  Cry Sep 30, 2011

Categories : American | Coffee

Starbucks had introduced a new drink which is the green tea frappe. This drink is for those who are health conscious and at the same time, do not want to drink chocolate drinks as they are afraid of gaining the extra calories. The drink is a bit milky and it is a bit sweet.

The drink tastes a bit weird. Milk and cream is a bad combination.

Nasi Padang  Smile Sep 30, 2011

Dishes ordered were plain rice, barbequed chicken cooked in gravy, beef rendang, begedel, tapioca shoot cooked in coconut broth. I also asked for sayur lodeh (mixed vegetables cooked in coconut milk and asam pedas- gravy only. Another dish I ordered was tahu telor. The asam pedas was quite thick but it still tasted good. The tahu telor is quite big and enough to be shared among four people.

The service here is fairly good. Would have rated its service as excellent if not for the sarcastic remark.

Yummy Desserts  Smile Sep 30, 2011

Furama's variety of desserts are really tasty. They have a wide range of desserts. From nonya kueh to brownies and ice cream. The brownies are my favourite. It is very chocolaty and soft. I always pour chocolate syrup on top so that it would be extra chocolaty.

I also tried the crepe. There was chocolate syrup on top. It was soft and taste a little bit like appam. Something different. The agar agar is very sweet and tasty. The cakes are also very nice.

Idli  Smile Sep 30, 2011

Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Vegetarian | Curries

Idli is a South Indian Food usually made for breakfast or tiffin in South Indian Household. If you are craving for this, head down to Syed Alwi road where Murugan Idli Shop is situated.

Don't be deceived by the size of the shop. These people serve the best of idli in town. Trust me. What's the difference between idli spread served here and elsewhere? Well, the idli at Murugan's are not pre-steamed and stored. They are steamed after you place the order. Therefore, you get a refreshing, soft, light and fluffy idli accompanied by sambar(lentil gravy) and four typed of chutneys to suit your palate. Coconut, tomato, corriander and mint chutney will certainly leave that aftertaste that would drive you to order more than a set of two idli.

Great tasting food and good service at Murugan Idli. I've yet to savour idli better than those sold here.

Chicken Rice  Smile Sep 30, 2011

It was my first time at Tong Seng and my friends had told me a lot about the food sold there. I decided to try the chicken rice. The place is really crowded, since it was fasting month. I ordered the steamed chicken rice.

The food was really nice. Both the chicken and the rice were well cooked. The soup is really tasty and you can even drink it on its own. The price is very reasonable. $3.50 for a plate.
