Located along a slip road from Tanjong Katong Road, The Laneway Market (TLM) is one cafe that will be overlooked easily. Despite its obscure location, TLM makes it up with their hospitality and food, which makes them quite a head-turner. Heavily themed like a market, TLM is a cosy and comfortable cafe to chill-out!
The Laneway Market is a full-fledged cafe which serves everything from casual breakfasts to dinner mains, in addition to specialty coffee and in-house baked pastries.
Hers: Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and focaccia, while decorated with sautéed mushrooms. Accompanying her meal was pot of fragrant English tea.
Mine: Pulled Pork Sandwich ($19). I love pulled pork, therefore it will be my top choice whenever a cafe or eatery serves it.
Coffee ($5.5), though a little pricey but was worth the price. It had a medium body, was bold in flavour and had a tinge of buttery note. Well, that's how I perceived it. Good cuppa for brunch!
Lastly, what did we do to deserve this HUGE bowl of truffle fries?! Out of curiosity, I inquired about its portion and found out it was an exception for us. Aw, how nice of the lady boss!
With such sincere service, good food and abundant of parking lots on the opposite side, this is one cafe that is worth coming back again!

Finally a visit to Singapore’s first and only specialty family run eatery that's devoted to Buffalo wings! Here at Wings World, these American styled Wings are tossed in 13 different seasoning and sauces (and counting) of your choice and comes with complimentary celery and carrots sticks on top of your choice of blue cheese or ranch dips.
So how to order? Step 1) Choose the quantity (6 or 10 pieces), Step 2) Choose the parts (drumlets, wings or mix), Step 3) Choose your seasoning.
Kinda disappointed with the size of the wings as I was expecting those typical buffalo wings. Check out those from Jerry's BBQ, my favourite place for wings!
In comparison with Wings Stop, Wings World was crispy but dry. Thankfully, the chicken tenders were the saving grace.
Will I come back to Wings World again? Not really, unless I am desperate or have strong cravings for Wings, otherwise Katong Laksa next door will be a preferred choice.

What will it be when one thinks of healthier eating option? Fruits, Vegetables, Fat Free, the list goes on and that includes Fried Char Kway Tiao. Yup, you heard me right, Singapore's local delight- Fried Char Kway Tiao. Located at first level of Golden Mile Food Centre houses (probably) the healthiest version of Singapore's pride.
Less oil, more greens may seem fitting for a healthier meal. However, here at 91 Fried Kway Tiao Mee, their noodles is lard and lap chiong (wax sausage) free! No...!
Well, it definitely lacked the lard fragrance and savoury taste from the lap chiong, but it still ha the crucial wok hei flavour!
So if you are planning for a "healthier" choice of CharKway Tiao, do drop by here!

Who would have imagined that a humble prawn mee hawker stall about 25 years ago will evolve into a food empire today. With the ability of selling more than 100 bowls per hour during peak hours, this speaks volume of their food and service standards. Apart from sales, Beach Road Prawn Mee has retained the tradition of having NgohHiang kitchen along side. Check may like to check out Geylang Prawn Noodles too!
So here we are during lunch time, but to our surprise, our orders came within a blink of an eye (10 minutes, but you get my drift). Is that all it takes to sell more than 100 bowls in an hour?
The prawn broth was packed with seafood sweetness and balanced in taste, thumbs up for the umami taste!
We had a couple of selections from the NgohHiang kitchen. The tofu was the kick ass! Soft and silky!
Definitely worth the trip despite of the crowd. The only bane would be the scarcity of parking lots. I guess getting a booking ticket just for this legendary Prawn Mee is justifiable?

Full Review at http://lepakwithyaops.com/jc-coffee-houzz-nostalgia-meets-contemporary-at-joo-chiat

Tucked along Joo Chiat Road, JC Coffee Houzz simply exudes old school vibes marriage with modern lines. First impression of this cafe reminded me Col Bar Cafe at 9A Whitchurch Rd. Both serving popular foods during Singapore's colonial days, such as Hainanese Pork Chop Rice and Western fare, but with a modern touch here at JC Coffee Houzz.
Hainanese Pork Chop Rice ($9.6) - Reminded me of a home-cooked meal and life's simple pleasure. I can't say that it was superb and neither was it bad. A thicker cut may have sealed the deal?
Grilled Pork Chop ($10.8) - Nice char grilled flavour given to the tender pork. JC Coffee Houzz got to super size it to justify its price!
On top of colonial day's food and western fare, dim sum are available too! Liu Sha Bao (Salted Egg Custard Bun @ $4.8) was the way to go.
Desserts are available as well. Wanted to go for waffles ($7.8 and $10.8), but I gotta be a little more conservative with my spending! For coffee lovers, coffee filtered with socks are the way to go here!
The restaurant sets a great location for group gatherings, business meetings, or romantic dinners that would bring people together for a meal of comfort food.
