I was here with a couple of friends on a weekday night after work.

This is a Japanese-style bar. The menu contains mostly of small plates of food meant for sharing.

I thought the drawings on the wet tissue gave a nice personal touch. So was the reservations card.

Food-wise, though portions were small for the price, they were pretty delicious. In fact, the taste is one of the best among the drinking places.

You have to try the Katanashi Fried Chicken! It's pricey at $2.40 per piece, but it was so crispy and tender! The batter was a little sweet.

Cheese Hanpen is basically deep-fried battered fishcake and cheese. It was delicious too. I also recommend getting the curry menchi, another fried item.

We ordered shime saba too, and the fish was torched right in front of us.

Beef carpaccio was not bad, so was tuna tataki if you like eat raw food.

I won't recommend the okonomiyaki because it's nothing special. As for the fried udon, I felt that the noodles were too soft for my liking.

I didn't really notice if the bar was noisy or quiet. I guess it was okay. I had a great time with my friends!

Pork Ribs Noodles OK Feb 02, 2015
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

Instead of going for bak chor mee, I tried their dry pork ribs noodles. The sauce is the same as bak chor mee, just that instead of getting bak chor and pig's liver, you get tender and soft pork ribs. I find their soup very very thick. Some people would not like it very much.

Old School Bakery Smile Feb 02, 2015

Categories : Bakery | Hawker Centre

This is the place to grab some yummy old school buns. They are priced at less than $1 per bun, which is cheaper than many neighbourhood bakeries these days. Besides the buns, I really like the egg tart. They are fragrant and not too sweet.

One of the reasons I really like buying from this bakery is the uncle! I think he's secretly famous here for his "lai, zai lai!" mad

Not Worth The Trip OK Jan 31, 2015

If you're not living in the West, don't bother. It's not worth all the journey there as there are good nasi lemak everywhere in Singapore. I was here on a weekend evening. At around 6 pm, there was already a rather long queue (compared to the other stalls). It is pretty cheap and affordable with the chicken set priced at $3. $1 for the otah which I felt was good. Many people raved about the chilli, but I didn't like it. I found it more sweet than spicy.
Chicken Set $3 + otah $1

Chicken Set $3 + otah $1
