Yum Cha is introducing their Chinese New Year Menu for 2016. Thanks to OpenRice, I was invited to partake in the food tasting of the delivery menu which you can order through www.yumcha.com.sg or in store.Salmon Yusheng $68+ (Large)
The Yusheng comes with special inhouse plum sauce
. Their fresh salmon is Norway AVA licensed. The salmon really tasted very fresh. This salmon yusheng can help you rekindle ties with family members at home as you toss this bountiful yusheng with your love ones.
There was a good combination of condiments including jelly fish
which makes the dish very special. The dish looked very appetising and colourful.
The combination of the seasoning makes the taste a bit more sourish than the typical yusheng. Crispy Roasted Chicken $40+
The roasted chicken comes with a special garlic powder which added to the taste and made the dish more fragrant. The chicken was well roasted and juicy.
The chicken was quite large and meaty.Braised Pig's trotter with "Fatt Choy" (Black Moss) $38+
The pig trotter was quite a large piece. The meat was very tender and the gravy was especially tasty with the Fatt Choy. It was well braised and the pig skin melted in the mouth
. It came with some lettuce which helped to absorb the fatty juice and made the lettuce fantastically tasty.
Fried rice with chinese sausage in lotus leaf $38+
The rice had good flavour, however, the rice was not well cooked. If the rice had been a bit more cooked, it would definitely be a great delicious dish! It is a good idea to present fried rice in a lotus leaf.
Suckling Pig $220+ (whole)
The sucking pig skin was very thin and crispy. The meat was unusually tender and juicy.
There were no fats found below the skin, making it easy to eat. Some of us who are very health conscious would not need to remove the fats before eating the crispy skin. The size of the pig can feed about 6 to 10 person.
