Had buffet lunch here with le familia. The spread variety was quite substantial. Took the raw seafood as appetizer and it was really fresh! Had 3 different kind of oyster on that day (US, France and Canada).

I skipped the sashimi section as i had alot for the past few days, hahaha! Moving on to the live cooking station, I had angus beef and crepe. I was so touched on that day as it was the first time of my life i have seen crepe appear in a buffet. That almost move my tears, hahaha! The beef was really good, well-seasonsed and cooked to the excellent doness.

They had my favourite chocolate fondue, provided with mashmallow, grape and strawberry. They have different types of cookies, cakes and also ice cream! Especially lemongrass ice cream! I had my reservation on that initially but after "kope" a mouth from my sister's bowl, i brisk walked (maintaining my glam-ness here) to the ice cream section and scooped out a large portion that filled up the entire bowl. The taste was amazing good!

They have 5 ala carte dishes that is unlimited servings, which means that they will make and serve you after u ordered. The lists contains pork sausage, lamb rack, FOIRE GRAS, cod fish and award winning char kuey tiao. Had 2 portion of foire gras and cod fish, hehehe!

Definitely recommend this buffet for good quality and quantity.

Teppei Japanese Omakase review Smile Jan 08, 2016

A small restuarant at Orchird Hotel with only about 20 pax seating. Had a great fun during the dining! It was really an interesting experience. The chefs are very entertaining and we have our fair share of fun. They serve us mainly different kinds of sashimi and beef dishes. The sashimi was really fresh with no fishy smell. They have interesting food such as cod fish's sperm and sesame toufu! The taste of cod fish's sperm was not as bad as what i think initially! Sesame toufu was interesting as the sesame taste was quite strong and i like it!

Just another reminder, they have this special sashimi cake which can be order in advanced for birthday celebration. Another reminder, please have early lunch or light lunch before going to Teppei!

Review on Opus bar and grill Smile Feb 04, 2016

Made an booking for this restuarant for our advanced valantines' day celebration. Now they are having a promotion from monday to thursday, free flow of red/white/sparkling wine with any order from the opus beef selection and we went ahead with the deal.

Ordered the 800g Australian Rangers Valley Angus for sharing! We opt for medium rare but the beef turn out to be well done on the outside, medium and medium rare in between. Nevertheless, the taste turn out to be still good even for those pieces in well done. Tender beef that sink into your teeth when you bite.

We ordered the truffle fries and asparagus as sides. Asparagus was tad too little, 5 for $6 and please do not order the truffle fries as there is no truffle smell at all but was ok!

Btw the wine was really good though!

Populus Cafe review Smile Jan 06, 2016

Went ahead on first day of 2016! Was quite pack when we reach at 12.30pm but we are lucky to grab a seat in a short while. The service was prompt and friendly.

Spring pancake and fried chicken was quite unique. A interesting combination that actually goes well! Just that the portion of the chicken is a tad too small.

Buckwheat pancake did not fair as well as the ricotta hotcake from curious palatte and paddy hill but i definitely prefered this over the other 2! The pancake is more of a dense type, like a bun as comapred to the ricotta hotcake which is more fluffier. Topped with bluberries, strawberries and cornflake crumbs which makes it more unresistable! The portion was good for sharing but i may not want to share on the next visit, just eat it as a MAIN!

Grab their 1 for 1 house pour during happy hours. Ordered the "To Die For" burger and is really good! I like the combination of the sauce and burger. My partner ordered the truffle, but i still prefer mine instead. Had the beef slider too as the waiteress told us that the slider is 1 for a dollar only so we ordered 2 tried. Beef slider was mediocre, but not too bad for the cheap deal! The service was prompt and the atmosphere for the restuarant/bar is really nice for some chillax session with friends after a heavy day.
