Healthy Mexican Food for Lunch OK Mar 11, 2016

Categories : Mexican

Always curious for this small eatery in town and finally had the chance to tried. Had their Baja bowl with chicken and spicy chicken. Every mains ordered comes with a pack of nachos with free flow of salsa toppings for it. The variety for salsa toppings was quite a fair bit with tomato salsa as my top favourite.

The serving for Baja bowl was quite huge and I had difficulty finishing one. They contains alots of healthy ingredients such as fresh vegetables and black beans topped on mixed grains. For those who cannot take spicy food, please do not try their spicy chicken. The normal chicken was already covered with black pepper.

Recommend for those who wants to try something new.

Had brunch and the cafe was quite quiet in the morning with only few dine-in customers. The space was quite small with only a few tables to cater for dine-in. The staff were quite friendly and we are quickly serve with a table.

I had Ocean Thirteen, which was one of their recommended dish. Toast topped with smoked salmon, egg benedict and hollandaise sauce. The egg benny was not runny on that day but the beetroot sauce was quite refreshing for a change.

Recommended for those who want reasonable food with quiet space.

Arrived at the restuarant at ard 6.45pm, it was still quite empty. The staff was quick to serve us to our seats and attend to us when we were ready to order. Bought the $50 voucher from Qoo10 at th price of $30.

Mega chicken (Yangyam): The chicken was still as good as usual. The yangyam sauce that coated around the chicken was really flavourful and it make us lick every single drop of the sauce that was left behind. I find the mega chicken is more worth it for me as I am not really a wing person lol

Bulgogi fries: I really like this as it was something that appear unexpectedly good  to me. The fries was topped with beef to give a sweet taste and cheese that gives the cheesy smell. Yum yum!! Recommend for those who like to try new things apart from the usual truffle or salted egg yolk fries. Would try their kimchi fries the next visit, it looks nice too as the couple beside us was having that.

Yangpa Bomb: Deep fried onion, pretty normal but it comes with a spicy taste when we ate towards the middle portion. It seems that the seasoning was not well-proportion. Had better ones before at other places.

Recommended Dish(es):  Mega Chicken Yangyam,Bulgogi fries

Visited last Sunday, the resturant give us a clean and sleek look and it give us a different feeling from the usual vegetarian restuarant. They mainly serves peranakan-thai style cusine and the food was really awesome!

Yam Treasure Ring: The yam was really soft and topped with a whole lots of ingredients. However, the price is quite steep based on the size given.

Thai Mixed vegetables: They mix in a whole lot of fresh vegetables and it quite norm to say.

Penang Rendang: This dish was quite unexpected. Who would have thought that the rendang dish in vegetarian restuarant would smells and taste this good. I would not have expect that they actually use mushroom to replace the usual meat that we ate in normal peranakan cusine. I would definetely recommend this dish for their first experience in this restuarant.

Thai Battered Oyster Mushroom: This was quite a normal deep fried mushroom dish that will not goes wrong in majority of the food eatery.

Lemongrass drink: The taste of lemongrass we had that day was quite subtle, not much of the lemongrass fragrance.

I would recommend this place for those people who would like to have a change from their usual intake of meat and seafood. This is also a good place as a kickstart for those people who wanted to convert to vegan/vegetarian.

Made an advanced booking but the staff screwed up and did not take in our booking thus we waited quite a long time before seated. Poor service heresad

1) Flaming pineapple beef: this was really instagramable and taste really good! The beef was on the tender side with sweet pineapple taste from the sauce.

2) Orange chicken: deep fried chicken coated with orange zeat chicken stock. This dish was quite normal but it does comes with tinge of orange taste apart from the orange skin that was given on top of the chicken

3) 3 egg pyramid broccoli: the broccoli was quite unusual from the normal ones we bought from supermarket. Cannot really taste the 3 different type of eggs that was used here.

4)Tomato broth grilled fish: the fish was really huge! And there is no fishy smell at all, the tomato broth was really addictive as the soup was very clear and not sour to drink. It comes with varities of mushroom, tomato, cabbage and tofu skin.

Overall the food is good and recommended for family gathering too!
