Original review at http://www.nahmj.com/2016/04/30/sufood-singapore-celebrates-mothers-day-2016-raffles-city

I heard a lot of good comments about Sufood not from the online reviews but from my vegetarian friends and colleagues. It set me curious to find out how good could vegetarian dishes be. My Mom and I visited the outlet at Raffles City on a Thursday. To my surprise, it was almost at 80% capacity at around 7pm.

The ambience is elegant and classy with creamy colour tones and warm lighting. The space is decked with cushy chairs. As such it was a comfy having meals with family and friends.
At Dinner, Sufood is serving a 8-course Italian-Inspired Meatless Cuisine set meal at $29.80++ per person.

The first 2 course consist of The Sufood Appetizer and Sufood Signature Cider. I like the Sufood Signature Cider, it has a good balance of sweet and sour. It helps to whet appetite.
The plating of the Sufood Appetizer was exquisite. Each component was with different colours. It is not only attractive to the eyes but to the tastebud too.

We were advised to start with the Japanese Yuca Root drizzled with a blueberry coulis and move on to the lady finger and finally the Savoury Cherry Tomato. The souriness get intensified as we moved to the next.

The Rosemary Breadstick with either the Blueberry Coulis and another creamy sauce were served as dip. Bread was fluffy with light rosemary scent. I like the toasted version better that resulted in crispy texture.

A total of 4 salads is available for selection. We opted for the Classic Garden Salad with Caesar Dressing or Sesame Sauce and the Lettuce Vinaigrette Salad. Nothing outstanding about the salad.
The two other options are the Mushroom Salad and Tropical Fruit Salad.

Like the salad, 4 choices available. We went for the Root Soup which we find it outstanding. While the Pumpkin Soup was sweet and isn't the heavily creamy kind of soup. Even though I am not a soup fan, I appreciate the soup.
If you are wondering what other soup does Sufood Singapore offers, they are the Misto Mushroom Soup and the French Onion and Cheese Soup.

12 dishes for Mains; 4 Pizza, a rice dish, a baked potato, a vegetable skewer and 5 pasta dishes.
We ordered the Porcini Pasta and Macaroni Alfredo Casserole. We enjoyed the Porcini Pasta as we thought with the Red Pepper and Jalapeño sauce, it tasted unique. It has a little Sichuan flavour in this pasta dish. Macaroni Alfredo Casserole is a rich creamy with generous amount of cheese on top of the macaroni. There cream based has tomato added to provide a tanginess, to lighten the creamy feel.

Finally dessert time. Our choice of dessert were Red Bean Dessert with Yam Cubes and Mango Frollino. The Red Bean Dessert with Yam Cubes was filled with home-made goodness. While our vote will certainly goes to the Mango Frollino.

We ended our meal with 2 refreshing fruit, vegetable juices. I have The Purely (on the right of the photo) consisting of pineapple, choy sum and sour plum. While my mom has The Sunny with pineapple, orange and guava juice. Among the 2, we prefer The Sunny.

Original review on http://www.nahmj.com/2015/07/10/leclair-by-sarah-michelle-singapore-shopping-centre-dhoby-ghaut/

L'ÉCLAIR has finally opened their patisserie cum cafe at Singapore Shopping Centre with their dazzling instagram worthy looking Eclairs. I can assure you not only it is gorgeous looking but delish too.
Counter

Counter

I was Wow by the design of the cafe. If you missed your Paris holiday, have a little of the mood over here. Design was elegant, modern, classy and cosy too.
Dinning Area

Dinning Area

Speciality at L'ÉCLAIR is Eclairs. According to the menu, they will have 10 flavours daily with 4 Classic Collections, namely Vanilla & Pecans, Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Isapanhan. The remainings are under the Seasonal Collections.

Savoury was offered besides the sweets, Chicken & Bacon Pie (served with house salad).
For drinks, 8 types of tea, coffee, hot and iced chocolate and 2 sodas.
Box of 4s

Box of 4s

The box is in white and blue theme, though simple were classic. The box of 4s has each box designed to contain exactly 4 with no extra piece in between. And each Eclairs is contained individually in a paper container. The design of the box is very friendly, it allows ease of removing each Eclairs from the box.

Classic Collections

I have tried all 4 classic flavours.

A dark chocolate with brownie bites is what offered in the Dark Chocolate Eclair is best for the Chocolate lovers. We felt though it was good but it didn't wow us as much as the other flavours, as chocolate is a common flavour.

The Salted Caramel has the classic scent. The good part was it was lightly sweetened with popcorn adding to the crunch.

My top fave in this collection is the Ispanhan, a flavour of Rose, Raspberry & Lychee. The Rose flavour slowly emitted the fragrance and infused with the subtle Lychee and Raspberry. Our conclusion for this flavour was amazing. A point to note, this is a signautre of L'ÉCLAIR.

Lastly was the Tahitian Vanilla and Pecan. I was surprised that I enjoyed as I don't usually like anything vanilla. Perhaps it was due to the layered flavoured and texture present.
Tahitian Vanilla and Pecan

Tahitian Vanilla and Pecan

It has a nice vanilla scent pair with nutty caramelised pecan that gave the crunch. These ingredients complemented each other well.

Seasonal Collections

Each week of the year, the seasonal flavours are rotated and there may be new flavours crafted.
Passionfruit Eclairs

Passionfruit Eclairs

One of which I tried was the Passionfruit Eclair. I like the sourish sweetish fruity passionfruit sensation, though my Mom felt it was too sour. Certainly thumbs up for me.
Banana

Banana

We tried the Banana and Walnut too. All we could describe was banana like how the Minions would say it. Lol! Bananas fan, you got what you wanted.
Lemon Meringue Eclair

Lemon Meringue Eclair

The Lemon Merinuge has this classic meringue on top of the eclairs which diners could easily identified with. As it lack of the crunch such as the biscuit tart base, somehow it is not as enjoyable. Though the lemon custard has a good balance of sourish and sweetness taste.
Earl Grey Eclair

Earl Grey Eclair

I am the Earl Grey fan. As such I will never missed out on anything Earl Grey. This Earl Grey Eclairs has a light scent of Earl Grey and lightly sweet. I would prefer the flavour to be stronger.
Roasted Pistachios & Strawberries

Hazelnut Praline

Hazelnut Praline

For diner who like nutty flavours, one could choose the Roasted Pistachios & Strawberries and Hazelnut Praline. Both has some nutty crunch added to enhance the texture too.
Cafe

Cafe

Coffee lovers and especially the Espresso lovers, Cafe Eclair would be the perfect choice.
Speculoos

Speculoos

Speculoos is an Easter special which has a cute rabbit on it. As for taste-wise, except for sweet, I don't really favoured more than sweet.
Some CNY Special

Some CNY Special

And at various special festival, there are special flavours. For 2016 Chinese New Year, out of the 4 flavours, I tried 2. The Pineapple which is so Chinese New Year, reminded me of the Pineapple tarts. The other Black Sesame which was like having a good bowl of the traditional black sesame paste. I prefer the former while my mom the latter. The other special flavour was created for the SG50 was the Kaya. It was so local. The last in the box is the Chocolate, pretty usual though.

The choux pastry of the Eclairs were perfectly bake with the best texture and consist of all the correct elements. Each Eclair is pretty decorated, tempting all your senses. Taking a stock count of the number of flavours I tried so far. Wow! That was 12 in total!

http://www.nahmj.com/2016/01/02/dose-cafe-tyrwhitt-road-jalan-besar-singapore/

I was surprised that there is someone who is courageous to have a cafe opposite a strong competitor, Chye Seng Huat.

Dose cafe has an elongated space. The design of the cafe was pretty cool with lots of warm light bulb hanging both as light source and ornament. There were a number of small green cactus ornament to complement the brown wooden wall. The cafe was designed by the owner.

I ordered the Ham, Bacon and Cheese Croissant. This is a warm sandwich. I am sure it is welcomed by many. The best part was the ham and bacon were fried by the Air Fryer, no additional oil required. It was healthy. What I like about this plate was lots of greens were on the plate.

Dose offer excellent home made Tiramisu (and coffee). In the Tiramisu, Dose uses Bailey instead. The amount of Bailey was generous, I could savour the alcohol.
Tiramisu

Tiramisu

Dose Cafe uses Etude blend from Blacklist, a Perth, Australian roaster. The blend is a light roast, comprises of Brazil Fazenda Matilde, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Konga, each 30%. The remaining was Kenya Sasini Estate Peaberry. The white (Cappuccino) was well balanced with medium acidity and body. It has chocolate and berries flavour notes.

Though Dose Cafe doesn’t offer exciting food option like their peer, what they offer is good cuppa and with nice home made Tiramisu and friendly, warm and sincere service. And Dose offers Wifi too. That was nice.

With a modern setting and design, the Lighthouse Bistro located at a corner of BH Building at the ground floor serves some of the most delish and value for money western dishes.

Fishermen’s Board, a seafood platter for two with Atlantic Tiger Prawns, Thai Sauce Squid, Black Mussels sat on a garden salad and crumbled dory and orange mayo sauce. At such as quality and quantity and great tasting, it is certainly value for money.

Black Onyx Angus was one of the main we ordered. We asked for Medium Rare but it proved to be too much for us. We returned for Medium. The Black Onyx Angus was a 200g striploin cut with potato salad by the side and no sauce. Even when eaten on its own with no sauce, it was an excellent piece of steak which we thought it could be easily be the best.

Our second mains was a fish. We went for the East Atlantic Sea Perch which was also at 200g. The fillet pan fried on both side came with a crispy fish skin. I don’t usually eat it with the skin but this one I did and I recommend all to do the same. Enough of seasoning were drizzled on the fillet to bring the natural goodness of the perch. At the bottom of the fillet were french beans and garlic mash potatoes and a capsicum sauce. The dish was garnished with dill and some sauteed capsicum as well. The other item on this dish worth highlighting was the mash potato.

We were recommended the PP Lighthouse Cake which was an in-house baked banana cake with a scoop of coconut ice cream drizzled with a salted caramel. With strawberries, blueberries, cookie crumble and sauce on the plate too. We were impressed with the scoop of coconut ice cream more than the cake. The cake was good too. The ice cream was better.

Fishermen’s Board is a must order at Lighthouse Bistro and we thought highly of the Black Onyx Angus too. And of course the Coconut Ice Cream.

We enjoyed our meal at Lighthouse Bistro, not only it served delish food and most importantly at a very affordable price.

Monniker has a unique interior decoration theme, the Victorian Steampunk airship.

Dark Valrohna Chocolate Cake was the only dessert we order. Though looks dark on the photo but the chocolate was a little weak .

Truffle Mushroom Papardelle was exceptionally good. Credit was to the rich mushroom sauce and not forgetting the excellent pasta too.

Chicken Waffle Stack is a signature item at Monniker. The Grilled Chicken was topped with a melting cheese, succulent and tasty. But you must eat it with the skin as the marinate essence are all on it. The waffle were drizzled with generous amount of maple syrup as a result the dish is both savoury and sweet. Interesting, a side mushroom sauce which I find it unnecessary and seriously overdose was served together.

The Cappuccino was more than decent; a pretty balanced cup with medium acidity and full body. Some nutty undertone and berries flavour note.

Iced Chocolate was a little weak in chocolate flavour.
