Dinner @ Gurney Drive Restaurant Cry Apr 21, 2012

Dinner @ Ang Mo Kio's Gurney Drive Restaurant - was very excited to visit this place and try it when i passby the restaurant twice before.

So here i am today to try it... but guess what...

Prawn noodles (Although I don't take prawn noodle often, but the soup base tasted quite good!) prawn quite big, pork ribs and fish cake is just nice..

But the Lor Mee was really a big disappointment experience for me. Worst Lor Mee I ever had before.... i dont know what i am eating... and barely a few mouth i gave up the whole bowl...

service was also so so only...

Don't think i will be back for more... sorry.

Been to Everything With Fries @ Holland Village and also the one at Katong one. Both experience is great...

but sadly, my experience at this Takeout Outlet wasn't really pleasant at all.

the previous time when i was there, they mixed up our orders, and eventually forgot about the order, we waited like 20mins and then i was so angry with their service attitude and i cancel my order and got back the refund. (means the drinks is free, but the drinks are not nice at all)

so decided to give it one more try this time, so got our orders, and looking for a seat, and realized the seats are mostly left with the unfinished food by the previous customers. (no service crew seems to be clearing up the leftovers)

Bacon Omelette Burger with Original Shoe String Fries (Not fantastic, and not appetizing at all, i think mcdonald have better burgers, the shoe string fries like very soggy not crunchy like those from mcdonald, feels like KFC's fries though. haha.)

Har Cheong Kai Burger with Curry Fries (Har Cheong Kai is juicy but full of fats and so oily)

Warm Apple Crumble (Totally cannot make it, please skip it, the thin apple slices overlapping taste so FLAT and dry)

overall experience = DISAPPOINTED

Dinner @ Breeks Cafe Cry Jan 31, 2012
Categories : American | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | Brunch | Kids-Friendly

Saturday Evening, breeks cafe wasn't really crowded around 5plus...
went there for dinner with my friend. the ceiling is quite low, and the whole restaurant is quite stuffy, ventilation is not good, so we ended up taking up the seats along the corridors,

after going through the menu, decided to settle for finger food instead of the main ala carte, probably because i think the main dishes are over price and they don't really look appetizing.

Waffle Fries with Cheese (Nice! I like)

Potato Island (Baked Potato filled with Creamy Mushroom, wish the baked potatoes were more soft)

Southwest Chicken Salad (so-so, avocado pieces too thick, the southwest dressing wasn't really nice)

Buffalo Wings (not spicy enough, and they just practically pour the sauce on top and treat it as buffalo wings

Service was still quite ok... so i leave it up to the readers here to experience themselves. cheers

High Tea @ Antoinette Cry Jan 28, 2012
Categories : French | High Tea | Desserts and Cakes | Brunch

2nd time to Antoinette so decided to go to this newly opened store at Mandarin Gallery.

Restaurant was really well finished with similar concept to the one Penhas Road.

But once step in the seats area, i almost fainted. the strong oily smell is so overwhelming, guess they do not have a good ventilation in their kitchen, that's why the oily smell slips out from the kitchen area.

so what if they have nice dining table and decoration, but the air ventilation is bad and the air con is too cold.

nevertheless ordered;

Chocolate Marshmallow Meringue (Very sweet, just like you are eating air with sugar haha... serving is quite big and you get sick of it after a few bites so advice to try it only if you are there with a group of friends)

Mont Blanc (Nice, creamy chestnuts on the top)

Violette (Love the jam taste, but the cream part on the top is a little too hard)

guess after the whole experience here at Mandarin Gallery, i will still prefer the outlet at Penhas Road

From woodlands took a train to Bishan, then switch to Circle Line and take towards Paya Lebar MRT and from the bus stop nearby took one of the public bus to reach the bus stop near Smiths Authentic British Fish & Chips.

moment you step into the store, the deep fried oily smell will start smoke you, i didnt want to smell like a fish & chip after this meal so i told my friend we better chop alfresco seats.

it's a self-service concept, so you order and pay and wait for your food. while we are deciding what fish we want to eat (there is battered chicken chop too), i notice the kitchen crew is fooling around inside the counter and didn't seems bother that there is customers around.

His Dory Fish & Chips - compare to the Chicken, fish is less oily, and the edges are pretty crispy. it will be ok if we have order beer... then the fries(chips) are kinda soggy and tasteless, like it have been there for very long...

Battered Chicken & Chips - $10 for a chicken deep fried chicken drum stick totally not worth, i rather walk to next door and get a deep fried drumstick from Punggol Nasi Lemak, =x
Just chicken.... and it's very oily
