Dinner @ Overeasy Smile Apr 25, 2012

Dinner @ One Fullerton's Overeasy - A nice place to chill out with your friends or loved ones...

Indoor (aircon) and alfresco (Smoking and non-smoking area)

by the time my partner and i was there, the alfresco non-smoking area which have the normal table seats are all occupied... only left the smoking area (tall tables with high stools) and you need to bear the occasion breeze of "not so fresh air" (if you know what i mean) haha.

Eggs Skillet (Scrambled eggs $16) overall wasn't really great.. just ok only...

Pan-seared Sea Bass with Spinach and Corn Risotto (Thumbs up, worth $26++) Spinach and Corn risotto really rich and nice... and the sea bass is just nice! worth the $26++ bucks...

Truffle Fries (Crunchy enough but it is a little too ex for just shoe string fries even though it is "truffle fries", although the portion is fairly big for $12)

White Peach Bellini Champagne (nice nice.. $21,) and IBC Root Beer Float ($10)

the good thing about sitting in the alfresco area is because you get to see the people walking by, and the view of Marina Bay sand is great too!

But service was a bit bad... i called for the bill for 3 times..
Great! Must Try

Dinner @ Dian Xiao Er Smile Apr 25, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Dinner @ Causeway point's Dian Xiao Er, dining on a Thursday night is great.. not too crowded as compare to weekends.

for anyone dining there, if you want to make your meal slightly cheaper... skip the peanuts that they are serving... and maybe the wet towels too.. that's a few dollars difference!

Actually dinner today was a little budgeted... and that's what my partner and i ordered!

A soup of the Day ($5.50), Huai Shan with pork ribs soup... (some herbal soup) tasty, the soup really got the taste or the herbs.

also shared the small Ten Wonder Duck @ $12.80, as usual tasting great... but just finding the portion too light sometimes... reason because duck have more fats than chicken so for those who don't like the fats, then you will find it portion small after removing the thick layer of fats.

and also a plate of Dou Miao @ $8.30, dou miao was rather fresh, and not oily, healthy!

overall it is quite filling... but come think of it.. it wasn't really that Budget too! lol..

Service was ok there... although we waited quite awhile for the duck to be ready...

the restaurant is quite spacious..
Great! As usual good!

Lunch @ 40 Hands Smile Apr 22, 2012

Lunch @ Yong Siak Street's 40 Hands - recommended by one of my best friend that this is a nice place to chill out with nice coffee...

today colleagues and i suppose to try the hainanese curry somewhere near by... but it was closed, so 40 Hands strike my mind... so we spend 15min to walk from Tiong bahru Market to reach 40 Hands....

the place is quite cosy... interior decoration quite cool... first time here.. a bit lost don't know what to order, so through the recommendation from the Cashier... we ordered.....

Asian Slider (AKA Kong Bak Bao AKA Braised Dark Soya Sauce Pork Belly with Bun) 3 for $10!!! Price of a piece can eat a plate of fish ball noodles in Kopitiam which is way more satisfying, taste wise the meat is ok but portion is really pathetic, the pot of meat is soaked in chilli oil as you can see from one of the photo uploaded here... it is really oily...

Truffle Oil Fries ($8 for fries some might find it too expensive, but for truffle fries I think is worth, quite tasty actually)

Flat White ($5, Like the latte art)

Salt Cod Mash Sandwich (Sandwich bread is very nice, salt cod mash filling is jus nice although you wouldn't tasty much of the cod fish, $12)

Appletiser Sparkling Apple Juice (Refreshing at a price of $4.50)

A place for you to visit for a nice brunch... A sandwich and a cup of coffee will start your day good...
Great and refreshing

Dinner @ Bakerzin OK Apr 22, 2012
Categories : Bakery

Dinner @ Northpoint's Bakerzin - it wasn't really crowded for a dinner time... guess maybe ppl only come here after dinner for some desserts...

ordered the Spicy Tuna Pasta, Spaghetti was good, didnt expect the pasta is topped with deep fried mini shrimps because the waitress did not highlight to me it comes with shrimps, was a bit upset because i don't really take shrimps.... and the menu should have clearly indicated that it contain shrimps (some ppl are allergy to shrimp) overall taste quite ok, $12.90++)

Grilled Cod Fish with Mashed Potatoes (Portion of Cod fish is really small and taste quite ok only because it taste like it is over-grilled, but personally feel that it is too overprice although it is BakerZin! $16.80++)

Irish Bailey Cream Soufflé, we ordered this after our menu since we don't feel full after the main course. anyway it Taste great, although the souffle seems to be a little smaller than before... it cost below $10

with the same amount of money... i believe i can find something better to fill up my stomach.
Ok only...

Dessert @ Dessert Bowl Smile Apr 25, 2012

Categories : Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

Dessert @ Serangoon Garden's Dessert Bowl - after having dinner nearby...

my partner Suddenly crave for durian... so we thought of going for some durian desserts at Dessert Bowl.... but we were there quite late you see... it's around 9pm and it's a Sunday! any dessert with durian is all not available.. so disappointed... the demand is really high though...

Mango Ai-yu (Very nice, alternative when the famous durian mousse runs out)
FYI Ai Yu jelly is the same Ice Jelly that we have from those hawker centre or food court store... just that in taiwan they are known as Ai Yu... and in singapore we just call it as ice jelly..

Melon Sago (Quite nice and refreshing) but i will prefer Mango Ai Yu more...

the place is crowded with ppl during weekends... and groups of friends usually like to come here and hog the seats too! annoying isn't it? do bring a ear plug if you could... ppl there like to talk very loudly...

and the shop should consider removing away the 4 sofa seats, so that they can accommodate more hungry ppl, isn't it?

So if you want to try their famous durian mousse do drop by early before it is all gone..
Good.. can try
