Dessert @ Tiong Bahru Market's Tian Tian Yuan Dessert House - A place with full of affordable and hearty dessert!

It was a very warm day... so decided to go for some cold desserts to cool down a little...

as we all know, Tiong bahru market is one of the famous market with lots of "treasure" here.. there are more than 30 or 40 food store here, and some of the food store kind of repeated.

Everyone have their own preferred store... so i happened to like this Tian Tian Yuan Dessert House. saw many ppl trying out desserts in green bowl... therefore i went around to look for which store is using the same green bowl..

Colleague and I queue for a while, and the store helper is very good with taking order, she could remember our order and keep repeating to the one inside preparing...

My colleague had the Ice Kachang (Nice and rich ingredients below the shaved ice but something weird is there wasn't any condensed milk over the ice, we suspect that they could have forgotten to put or maybe that's their style? $1.20 for this..)

I had the Qing Teng (One of the best Qing Teng I must say, Red and Green bean was added into the dessert thus it is very sweet, and it is very unique to know they have red and green beans in it, the normal or perhaps the Standard ones from other store doesn't), less than $1 i think... forget the price..

Dinner @ Dian Xiao Er Smile Apr 25, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Dinner @ Causeway point's Dian Xiao Er, dining on a Thursday night is great.. not too crowded as compare to weekends.

for anyone dining there, if you want to make your meal slightly cheaper... skip the peanuts that they are serving... and maybe the wet towels too.. that's a few dollars difference!

Actually dinner today was a little budgeted... and that's what my partner and i ordered!

A soup of the Day ($5.50), Huai Shan with pork ribs soup... (some herbal soup) tasty, the soup really got the taste or the herbs.

also shared the small Ten Wonder Duck @ $12.80, as usual tasting great... but just finding the portion too light sometimes... reason because duck have more fats than chicken so for those who don't like the fats, then you will find it portion small after removing the thick layer of fats.

and also a plate of Dou Miao @ $8.30, dou miao was rather fresh, and not oily, healthy!

overall it is quite filling... but come think of it.. it wasn't really that Budget too! lol..

Service was ok there... although we waited quite awhile for the duck to be ready...

the restaurant is quite spacious..
Great! As usual good!

Lunch @ Ru Ji Kitchen Smile Apr 24, 2012

Lunch @ Holland Drive Market's Ru Ji Kitchen

Well.. knowing it is famous from it's long long queue...

Be prepared to queue and wait for at least 20-30 min during lunch hours... be patience if you want to try this authentic fish ball noodles...

reason why i feel it is authentic because of the fish cake and fish ball they uses...
from one look you will know it is hand squeezed fish ball.. and the fish cake is also very old school looking...

very worth of trying it... giving me the old school feeling when u are eating using the Rooster Bowl... fish ball is very Q~~~.. it is reported by newpapers article that they are famous for their Spicy Dry noodles... it's the home made sambal chili that they used which made it special..

the cook (uncle) is very friendly too.. the way he cook u know he have been doing it for many years, and he will insist to cook one bowl at a time.. and that's the reason why the queue is so long, but you can be sure that each bowl of fish bowl noodles got consistency

totally worth queuing

Dessert @ Causeway Point's Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert - Located on the basement of the newly renovated Causeway point.

free sitting... capacity less than 30pax... ideal place for after dinner Dessert...

Minced Pork With Fried Chang Fen (very very nice, the chang fired is little crispy outside and soft inside, goes so well with the minced pork sauce, the sauce a little oily though, $3.60++) worth trying... quite nice.. i like it..

Mango Pudding with milk dressing(Nice n smooth but a little expensive for jus a pudding like that, $3.90++) not worth trying..

Almond Paste with Black Sesame Rice balls (Almond paste not bad, jus the skin of rice ball a little bit thick, $3.30++) not worth trying

they also serve wanton noodles too.. guess will try it the next time round...

Lunch @ 40 Hands Smile Apr 22, 2012

Categories : Bakery | Café | Brunch

Lunch @ Yong Siak Street's 40 Hands - recommended by one of my best friend that this is a nice place to chill out with nice coffee...

today colleagues and i suppose to try the hainanese curry somewhere near by... but it was closed, so 40 Hands strike my mind... so we spend 15min to walk from Tiong bahru Market to reach 40 Hands....

the place is quite cosy... interior decoration quite cool... first time here.. a bit lost don't know what to order, so through the recommendation from the Cashier... we ordered.....

Asian Slider (AKA Kong Bak Bao AKA Braised Dark Soya Sauce Pork Belly with Bun) 3 for $10!!! Price of a piece can eat a plate of fish ball noodles in Kopitiam which is way more satisfying, taste wise the meat is ok but portion is really pathetic, the pot of meat is soaked in chilli oil as you can see from one of the photo uploaded here... it is really oily...

Truffle Oil Fries ($8 for fries some might find it too expensive, but for truffle fries I think is worth, quite tasty actually)

Flat White ($5, Like the latte art)

Salt Cod Mash Sandwich (Sandwich bread is very nice, salt cod mash filling is jus nice although you wouldn't tasty much of the cod fish, $12)

Appletiser Sparkling Apple Juice (Refreshing at a price of $4.50)

A place for you to visit for a nice brunch... A sandwich and a cup of coffee will start your day good...
Great and refreshing
