Dinner @ Heng Heng Curry Cafe Smile Apr 21, 2012

Dinner @ Causeway Point's Heng Heng Curry Cafe

Curry Kong Bah (Pork Belly Meat), tasted quite good, quite unique, pork belly is tender but portion a little less, selling $9.90, rice is additional $1, but bowl looks a bit old school but worried about the hygiene part)

Curry Chicken Hor Fun (Disappointed with the portion of hor fun given feeling not enough like that.. And the curry chicken is so little meat, not very worth of $8.90++, although I must admit the curry sauce is good!)

Will go back again to try the fish head curry..

seats are quite limited there.. and manager doesnt seems to know how to manage the customer to allow the restaurant to reach its maximum capacity..

Reunion Lunch with family @ Shangri-la Shang Palace - Reservation not required, just walk in is fine although it is a public holiday.

Ingot Shape Dumpling with Vinegar (Spicy and Nice! $12) good to have it as appetizer.

Steamed Siew Mai with Abalone ($27 for three pieces, very juicy and tender Abalone, Must Try, although i think it is only available during CNY!

One of their famous dishes, Roasted Pi-Pa Duck (Half duck @ $48) it's a little expensive but it taste Great!)

Steamed Soon Hock Fish (800g for $112, the most expensive fish that i ever had, and it is very fresh!)

the Three Eggs Vegetable Soup (Surprisingly Nice, good to mix along with plain rice, $21 for this i think is a little to ex, after all is just some eggs (century, salted and normal eggs), right?? LOL)

Diced Black Pepper Beef with Onion Rings (Very nice, but must eat with rice if not a bit salty, $32) one of the must try.

Pan-fried 年糕 (very nice, looks like ham isn't it, FOC on the house)

Beancurb Roll Slice, very very nice! (FOC on the house)

Been to Everything With Fries @ Holland Village and also the one at Katong one. Both experience is great...

but sadly, my experience at this Takeout Outlet wasn't really pleasant at all.

the previous time when i was there, they mixed up our orders, and eventually forgot about the order, we waited like 20mins and then i was so angry with their service attitude and i cancel my order and got back the refund. (means the drinks is free, but the drinks are not nice at all)

so decided to give it one more try this time, so got our orders, and looking for a seat, and realized the seats are mostly left with the unfinished food by the previous customers. (no service crew seems to be clearing up the leftovers)

Bacon Omelette Burger with Original Shoe String Fries (Not fantastic, and not appetizing at all, i think mcdonald have better burgers, the shoe string fries like very soggy not crunchy like those from mcdonald, feels like KFC's fries though. haha.)

Har Cheong Kai Burger with Curry Fries (Har Cheong Kai is juicy but full of fats and so oily)

Warm Apple Crumble (Totally cannot make it, please skip it, the thin apple slices overlapping taste so FLAT and dry)

overall experience = DISAPPOINTED

Dinner @ Riverside Indonesian BBQ Smile Jan 31, 2012

well, it's my anniversary month with my partner again... been having really good food for this past few months since we were together, been going for western, japanese and chinese food mostly.. so though we should go budget and try something that we don't eat often...

so ended up hunting for finger food @ Orchard 313. and came across this Riverside Indonesian BBQ, from one to two stalls away you can smell the fragrance some from the BBQ store.

So decided to go for it a try. order one chicken and one fish, so that we can share and try together. the service auntie is quite friendly and nice...

both BBQ chicken and fish is very nice, sweet yet a bit of spicy, the gravy goes well with the rice... the sambal chilli is nice too! too bad there isn't any curry vegetables to go with it or else will be a healthier meal if you know what i mean, a little bit oily though, but once in a while wouldn't harm.

the store do not have their own seats, hence you need to make sure you find one at the common eating around before you start ordering.

The only chocolate dessert place that i can thought of in Mohammed Sultan,
a nice and cosy place for couple or a small group of 4 pax to sit down and relax and chill...

dim light creating the nice and cosy atmosphere... wide choices of cakes and pastry, and also their gelato and sorbets. staffs there are kinda impolite and having they on sweet thing chatting away in their own language.

Raspberry Cheesecake (looks like a sponge cake, but the overall taste quite nice and light, good for ppl who is looking something little as snacks)

Apple Tart Tatin with Vanilla Ice-Cream, you can taste each thick piece of the cooked apple, and the taste of the brown sauce is already absorb by the apple. so taste... and eat it with the ice cream is even better!

well after the first two dessert, can't help to try one more, their Green Apple Sorbet, very refreshing, you can even taste the green apple skin! thumb-up! and it is not sour too (in a good way)

Good!

Good!
