Tempura Ice Cream Smile Jun 30, 2011

Tempura Ice Cream

Tempura Ice Cream

I have never eaten Tempura Ice Cream so when my boyfriend told me about it, it did raise some eyebrows!

The unique dessert is made by taking a scoop of frozen ice cream and coating it in raw egg before adding it into a tempura batter. The low temperature of the ice cream prevents it from melting while being deep fried!

Although the batter was not hot (my boyfriend mentioned that it is usually served hot) it was still crispy and had an interesting texture of crispy and soft!

A really delicious and unique dessert!

Yummy octopus balls! Smile Jun 29, 2011

You can always see a long queue forming at this place if you come here on a weekend. Fortunately for us, we came during the weekdays and was served a 'boat' of 8 delicious takoyaki right away!

I absolutely love the takoyaki here -and i believe this place has the best takoyaki-!

I like how the skin is crispy and gives way to the soft, and pipping hot filling inside! The special sauce really complimented the whole dish and my friend and i finished this in no time!

Jumbo Seafood Smile Jun 28, 2011

Jumbo Seafood, is a well-known brand name here in Singapore and is renown for its delicious chilli crab and seafood dishes!

As a family outing, we decided to have dinner at Jumbo Seafood East Coast.
Chilli Crab

Chilli Crab

We ordered the famous chilli crab which i loved! The gravy was awesome, and had just the right amount of spice for me. It was a perfect combination when dipped with the crispy golden fried buns. Yum!
Salted Egg Yolk Prawns

Salted Egg Yolk Prawns

We also ordered the Salted Egg Yolk Prawns which was pretty expensive, but also pretty damn good in taste as well! The prawns were fresh (although small) and tasted great with the salted egg combination.

Overall, an awesome meal! Was really satisfied with the food here. Do remember to ask for discount at the counter (& pretend to walk away if they don't) before letting them lead you to your seats! They'll usually give u a 10% off for fear you might end up at their competitor's place.

After dinner, we decided to have some light Chinese desserts and headed to Ah Chew Desserts upon my friend's recommendations.
Steamed egg custard

Steamed egg custard

I ordered the steamed egg custard which was deliciously smooth and creamy and had just the right amount sweetness! A perfect after dinner snack.
White fungus soup

White fungus soup

My friend ordered the white fungus soup which was really cooling and good for the throat. I liked how clear and refreshing the soup was!

Overall, a great place for some affordable, authentic Chinese desserts!

Yummy yogurt! Smile Jun 25, 2011

You know you have great tasting yogurt when your boyfriend (who prefers meat to dessert) says that it tastes good too!

I went for the original flavor as it is less sweet and slightly more tart. I really like how creamy it tastes and i honestly prefer it better than frolick (melts way too fast and is not as creamy and silky as yoguru's!)

At $3.80, i reckon its worth every penny!
