Fillet

Fillet

The good old fillet is still as yummy!!! I always ask for extra tartar sauce and it comes free of charge! So if you're a tartar sauce lover, you really should go for the extra sauce! It makes your fillet so much richer and creamier plus tastier and not as dry. I especially love it as I bite into it and the sauce oozes out. This combination of tartar with the fish patty plus the soft bread just aces it every time! Never fails to impress me. Great burger!

cupcakes resembling a cake

cupcakes resembling a cake

My nephew loved this interesting 'cake' from Prima Deli at Nex shopping mall. We ordered the vanilla cupcakes version. They have chocolate version available too.

I love it that the vanilla cupcakes are soft and moist. The best part is that the vanilla cupcakes are not overly sweet, even for an adult like me who does not like very sweet things, it's just right. I would think that the cream is more for kids though, cos I don't like my cupcakes being too rich and creamy. My nephew loved it coupled with the cream on top! I guess that's a kid's preference.

As you can see from the picture, it's not a normal usual cake. Instead, it is made up of 24 separate cupcakes underneath. So the top layer is connected to make it resemble a normal dinosaur cake but the bottom is separate. So we only had to pass a few of his kindergarten friends a cupcake instead of the normal messy slicing of a big cake. This was so much more ease for the adults and fun for the children. Plus they loved the toys on top of the cake too haha.

cheese pancake Smile Mar 24, 2012

The cheese pancake never fails to make me happy. Reason being, Mr Bean uses good quality cheese, pretty much like the triangular thick chunks of cheese from "Laughing Cow" brand. I'm not sure if they really are using that brand, but it sure tastes like it. Very thick and cheesy unlike some other pancake shops that use cheddar slices (those you put in sandwiches). So the cheese pancake at Mr Bean is really a very good choice if you're into cheesy stuff and want a quick fix.

almond tau hway! Smile Mar 21, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

There was already a horrifying queue at the Maxwell Road outlet but gosh by the time I reached, which was about 12.20pm. In fact, they had no more of the original flavour left!!! Later, I found out from my friends that this outlet is relatively quiet if you go before lunch hour cos most customers are office workers around the area.

So I only bought their almond tau hway instead, which I found nicer than I expected cos their almond taste is not the overpoweringly strong type. It was actually quite mild in a way such that even a person like me who doesn't like almond found it ok. The best part is that it still had the same burst of watery goodness that's as fantastic as the original flavour. Thumbs up!

Prawn Aglio Olio

Prawn Aglio Olio

This prawn aglio olio s above average. The cheese shavings on top add to the flavour of the dish, which otherwise might be bland for people who enjoy heavy tastes. My palette is light so I did like this prawn aglio olio. The spaghetti was cooked just right and the prawns were quite fresh. So it is a dish that is worth eating if you happen to be around the area, otherwise, it's too ordinary to specially make a trip there for.
