Nice place in hotel 1929 OK Jul 31, 2012

What I craved most is the Homemade Crispy Tofu
I’ve came across many reviews raving how marvelously well done this dish was crafted with its excellent balanced robust flavors. While I really enjoyed the homemade tofu which had a silken, melt in your mouth texture, fried to a gorgeous golden brown with a batter of perfect consistency that wasn’t too heavy or soggy. The only grip was that the mirin sauce proved to be on the heavy side, while the infusion of truffle oil evoked distinct and robust flavors that were pleasant on the first few mouthfuls but got somewhat one dimensional after a while.

Tong Heng OK Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Desserts and Cakes

The best in Singapore (in my opinion) is from Tong Heng. When the egg tart is just out of the oven, the flaky pastry is crispy and the custard hot and soft. This is when I like to eat it as soon as it gets out of the oven. When you leave it too long, like all crispy pastries in humid weather, they all turn squishy after absorbing moisture from the air.

Nice Jap OK Jul 26, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet | Kids-Friendly

Food:  I've long since learned to focus on the key items in a Japanese buffet and not to waste time with the Udon,  fried rice,  deep fried chicken,  green salads, and potato chips,  which are not typically Japanese.  I started with a large dish of shashimi - tuna, salmon and squid (ika).  The tuna was particularly fresh and tasty compared to other joints that tend to serve mushy tuna.
Ambience:  It's a reasonable sized restaurant with small tables and chairs but it was unusually crowded on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch

Nice Ambience, so-so food OK Jul 15, 2012

all buffet-goers know one golden rule - to make your deal worth, attack the seafood counter! hmmmm.. i saw prawns, oysters, errrr... more.. prawns and oysters. . . . . WHERE'S MY CRAB? LOBSTERS? OR MAYBE BABY LOBSTERS? EVEN CRAYFISH????? *angry face* why??? really.. srsly! why? though the plus-sized juicy cold prawns did comforted my broken heart a lil bit.. but i can't help but to question it over and over again.. what's with that ridiculous limited selection of seafood?!

i order the pasta, and it is very salty. but the ambience is very good

Sizzling Cheesecake OK Jul 15, 2012
Categories : Singaporean Western

Located at basement of mang mo kio hub. It's a new coffe joint which serves coffee, toast and some cakes. Great place for high tea and breakfast.

There are some cheesecakes on display thus i decided to have one to try. All the cheesecakes look very well-baked and large in size. The popular ones are the new york cheese and blueberry cheesecake. I wanted to try something different thus i have the sizzling oreo cheesecake. it is very very nice, the cream will simply melted in my mouth.
