Char Kway Teoe OK Apr 24, 2012
Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

I thought it is just a normal char kway teow stall until I noticed the newspaper clipping hanging in front of the stall. It is quite famous at Armenian Street. However, it is closed due to demolishment & rebuilding of the Armenian St building. It has been missing for 3 years and now it is opened here.

I ordered a plate to try. It has the ‘wok qi’ as expected but it is slightly burnt. Overall is ok, but seems like something is missing maybe due to I request not to put cockles.

Hometown Like Wanton Mee Smile Apr 24, 2012

Categories : Malaysian | Hawker Centre | Noodles

I like the wanton mee especially in dark sauce. It is almost closed to my hometown one.

It has standard ingredients, i.e. char siews, veggies, pork lards. I remember at the beginning, the pork lard is free flow one. It is just placed together with chili. However, now it is added by stall assistant. Anyway, the amount is just nice.

I like to add green chili. I like the mixing sour taste of green chili and noodles in dark sauce.

Usually, noodles comes with 2 deep fried wantons & 2 boiled one. But I request to have all boiled ones due to I need to control my diet. Wanton is quite small. Even very small amount of salted fish is added, it is just tasty enough.

The fried wanton is nice too. But quite fatting. tongue

Xiao Wan Mian - Mi Tai Bak Soup Smile Apr 23, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Chinese Soup

I went to AMK Hub for lunch today. I am quite upset because my favorite stall of selling Hong Kong roasted meat has closed down and the stall owner of Japanese Shabu Shabu has changed also. Luckily, this XO Noodles is still around.

Usually I order ‘xiao wan mian’ with ‘mi tai bak’. I always request to put the ‘mi tai bak’ in the soup and they will do it for me.

I like the soup. It is very sweet. It is full of great taste of bar chor. When I don’t feel enough, I request to top up. And of course, the friendly stall assistant will do so without additional charge.
Nice!

Not Nice! OK Apr 23, 2012
Categories : Food Court

It is selling the famous Tiong Bahru shui kueh. I wonder if it is a branch. The standard is quite far behind.

The kueh is not as soft as the original one. Also, the ‘cai pok’ does not have the aroma of ‘heibee’. I remembered when I bought from original stall; passengers on the bus definitely knew that I was carrying a pack of shui kueh. This is because the smell is so strong & nice that the whole bus is full of it.

Anyway, one good thing about this stall is the chili; it is quite spicy & tasty. I like it.

Nice Waffle Smile Apr 23, 2012
Categories : Bakery | Halal

Even though waffle can be found at most of bakery shop, I still prefer Prima Deli.

It has good smell of pandan leave especially when it is under baking. I like to stand there to enjoy the smell.

It is not too sweet. I prefer it goes with butter filling. Even butter has melted, its salty taste mixes well with the sweetness of waffle. It is very nice!
