After hours of shopping with my mother and sister, we all got really exhausted and went in search of a place to rest those tired legs. We discovered that Han's had opened at Jem. Apparently the restaurant was really huge with plenty of seating but there were of course a lot of people so the place was still packed to the brim with some people having to queue outside. We ordered a hot teh-si ($1.50) each, their teh-si is really good, the tea is very fragrant. the evaporated milk that added to the tea gave is a very smooth texture. It was not too sweet as well. A very warming drink.

Bibimbap with Chicken  Smile Jun 23, 2013

I had korean food for lunch, cannot seem to get enough though. I ordered the Bibimbap with Chicken ($5.50). it was pretty good other than the chilli sauce being a little too diluted. I like the pickled radish, it was a little on the sour side, very crunchy as well. The chicken was marinated very well, not too salty but very tasty. The egg yolk made the dish not to dry. Their side dish of kimchi and anchovies were really good as well.

I bought a box of six mini baked char siew bun for afternoon tea from 8 tart. the lady kindly gave me a free bun saying that it was their opening special. their mini baked char siew bun is really good. the pastry is very light and flaky. when you take a bite, it practically crumbles in your mouth. there was a hint of buttery fragrance in the pastry. the char siew filling was really tasty, it was not too sweet. i felt that both the char siew and pastry went really well with each other.

My girlfriend and I are just so glad that Petit Provence decided to open a stall at JEM. Even though we were already so full from lunch, we had to at least get a Wassant each. This is how tempting their Wassants are. There were only two flavours to choose from, cream and kaya. We both preferred cream so we got two cream wassant. each wassant was reasonably priced at 70 cents each. the wassant is very light and fluffly, when you take a bite, it like practically melts in your mouth. very fragrant and delicious.

beef bowl Smile Jun 23, 2013

Everywhere was bustling with people in the newly opened shopping mall - JEM. my girlfriend and I were lucky to have found seats in our favourite beef bowl restaurant Yoshinoya. Of course I ordered their beef bowl; the beef is simply to die for. They somehow marinated the thinly sliced beef until it is very delicious, even the fat meat on top taste really good. I am not too fond of the vegetables though. I felt they should season it at least a bit because it was really bland.
