Korean meal Smile Jul 24, 2013

It is really a hidden treasure! The best korean food that is available in a food court! There is always queue during lunch hours. However, the waiting time is around 5mins. When the food is served, it will be very smoky as the hot plate is hot. I really like their pan fried chicken as they are very generous with the portion! It cost $6.50 and it is worth the price. The chicken is very soft and the spices are good. The set actually comes with rice, soup and a free side. There are 3 choices for the sides : Kimchi, cucumber or anchovies. I will always choose kimchi! I really like their not so spicy kimchismile

pan fried chicken.

Topokki- $5
Really like the sauce but i find their rice cake abit too hard. They should cook longer as i will prefer it to be softer.

Good fish soup! Smile Jul 14, 2013

Really love the fish soup here. However, you must make sure it's the uncle who do the cooking if you want the better fish soup. The uncle actually gives quite alot of slices of fish and vegetables which i like it! I love their fish soup, not the fried one. I like the clear soup which i think it might be healthier without the milk. The soup was clear and it tasted sweet and goes well when you eat it with the rice. The fish was also cooked nicely, not overcooked.

Goreng pisang Smile Jul 14, 2013

Goreng Pisang for snacks after dinner at Long House. They sell many different types of fried stuff. Besides their famous fried banana, there are also Green bean (80cents), sweet potato(70cents), tapioca(70 cents), etc. Their fried green bean and sweet potato are in circular slices. I love their goreng pisang (fried banana). The prices varies according to the size, from 80cents to $1.20. The ones i bought cost $1 each and yes, it is more crispy and nice!

Penang food Cry Jul 14, 2013

Categories : Malaysian | Halal

This shop is located at Jubilee Square and it is about a 5 to 10 mins walk for Ang Mo Kio interchange. My family and I went for dinner at around 7pm on a Saturday. We waited for a while before we get seats.

We ordered:

Lor Mee.

It came as a shock as I didn't imagine the soup to be so black. The soup was not salty as it seems. However, it was tasteless with a unique herb taste. The only good point is that the Lor Mee has a lot of ingredients in it.

Curry Chicken with Rice.

My dad ordered this and it was not that spicy. I personally like curry that is not spicy as I cannot take spicy food. For my brother who love spiciness, he thought that this dish was not that fantastic. The chicken in the curry was overcooked, it was quite tough to bite.

The only dish to recommend is their Fried Kuey Teow. I had forgotten to take a picture of the nicest dish.

Recommended Dish(es):  Fried Kuey Teow

Tau sar piah OK Jul 14, 2013
Categories : Bakery

This shop had been there for very long. My family just happen to drove past that area and decided to get tau sar piah as we really love it many years ago.

This shop sell a lot of flavours for the tau sar piah, like green tea, coffee, durian, etc, unlike the usual ones which only have salty and sweet. They have label on the tau sar piah itself so even if you takeaway with the mix flavours, you do not have to worry not being able to differentiate among the flavours. Different flavours have different prices, but it varies from 60cents to $1 each. However, i feel that they have lost the traditional taste as the fillings inside were very hard and the crust was not as crispy as before. The standard has dropped drastically from few years back and it does not taste as nice as before.
I really miss their traditional and original taste which i tasted a few years back from their shop.
