Normal Zi Char OK Nov 07, 2013

Dinner was at Golden Cafe on Craig Road.

Started with dou miao. It was nicely flavoured, tasty and crunchy.

Their prawn paste chicken tasted very ordinary. it was Served really hot. While eating you got to be extra careful.

Then we also had a salted fish tofu in claypot.
This dish did not have any wow factor. The sauce was salty and sour at the same time.

My overall experience was just so so. The service was also a little slow in my opinion.

No Ordinary cream puff OK Nov 06, 2013

Some kind soul sent us 2 boxes of Chewy Junior for tea break.

I helped myself to the chocolate oreo flavour.

They say on their website it's no ordinary cream puff which is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.

I am not so sure about their claims though. The cream puff is not so ordinary yes because they have so many types of flavours.

But it wasn't exactly crispy on the outside when I bite it in.

It was a little chewy, took a bit of effort to tear off the bitten part. The chocolate cream tasted ok only.

kaya balls OK Nov 06, 2013

Needed a coffee break and dropped into yakun at parkway. they have upgraded now and is a fully air conditioned joint.

Orderd a coffee frostyz which is just ice blended coffee. It was not too bad. Not overly sweet and pretty refreshing drink to have.

They apparently have a new food menu, and I ordered the kaya balls to try.

The famous kaya was still as fragrant, smooth and nice in the mouth. it's wrapped in this piece of cake that is soft and fluffy.

The only problem I had was that I wished that the kaya balls were served warm. I thought that would have make the whole experience better.

Pies & Coffee OK Sep 28, 2013

Needed a coffee fix and ordered a cup of mocha from Pies & Coffee.
First of all the latte art was disappointing. It was practically not there.
The taste of the mocha was all right. It was not so sweet, the chocolate or coffee taste wasn't strong either.
There was nothing that really stand out in this cup which makes it very ordinary.
Personally I find the coffee here not too consistent. everytime I order the same drink but everytime its a different taste.
Each cup cost $6.20.

Thai Set Lunch OK Sep 27, 2013
Categories : Thai

E-Sarn has $6.50++ set lunch promotion on weekdays which makes dining there pretty attractive. Today I ordered Prawn Pad Thai. However I was a little disappointed with the taste of it. The noodles were bland, slightly oily and not exciting at all.
The prawns tasted fine.

3 pieces of spring roll came along with the noodle. They were vegetable spring rolls that has a tangy taste because of the clear sauce that it was served with.
