Fried hor fun Smile Sep 27, 2013

They always have a long queue and today I decided to join in the queue.

I ordered fried hor fun with beef and fish. Though the queue was long, the service was quite quick.

The hor fun was smooth and there is this wok burnt taste which makes the flavor intense and nice. The slice fish was fresh and went very well with the smooth gravy that's filled with egg. The beef slices was tender and very tasty as well. This dish was definitely worth the time in waiting.

Meatballs and wings Smile Sep 26, 2013

Who doesn't love meatballs from Ikea? I love the fact that they are equally bready and meaty. The tangy lingonberry sauce complements the meaty balls so perfectly.

Besides that I also enjoy the fried chicken wings. It's fragrant and crispy on the outside. It's tender and warm on the inside. Its very comforting to eat the wings.

To make things better, the food is also very value for money. 10 pcs of meatballs for $5.50.

fine dining Smile Sep 26, 2013

For starters we had Carpaccio of Hokkaido Scallop. The presentation of this dish was very colourful and pretty. The scallop was spread thinly on the plate and garnished with citrusy jelly and mixed herb. There was a slight fishy taste in the scallop but it was well covered with the citrus tasting jelly and herb.

The next dish was house cured salmon.
This dish was super. The cured salmon was very fresh and super yummy. It was garnished with white chocolate that was wrapping salmon roe. The roe bursting in your mouth together with the white chocolate took dining to another level. Very interesting.

Main course was Sadlle of Lamb. The meat was tender and the raisin stuffed in it gave it extra flavour. It was very good.

For dessert, we were served Panna Cotta. This dessert is very rich and intensely flavoured. The pineapple jelly in the cup is the total opposite I suppose can help to cleanse the palette a little.

Gelato Smile Sep 25, 2013   (Related Review)

They are having a 1-for-1 promotion on grande cup now with DBS and Citibank which makes it even more worth it to try the gelato here.

They claimed to be the best gelato in the west side. Well not that I have tried all the gelato in the west. But they are definitely one of the best in terms of quality vs value.

I was feeling like alcoholic stuff and ordered the chocolate tequila and marsala wine & raisin.

The chocolate tequila flavour was very rich. Its dark chocolate and the taste of tequila was very strong as well. If you like rich flavor stuff, this would be for you.

The Marsala Wine Raisin flavor is lighter and quite refreshing. The alcohol taste or content seems lesser. I like that there are raisin bits mixed into the gelato offering you something to chew as well.

Value dim Sum Smile Sep 25, 2013

Was craving for dim sum and visited ah yat at mohd sultan. They always have this 40% off lunch deal for dine in.

Ordered the egg tart. They are mini bite size. Pastry is soft and fluffy. The egg filling is very fragrant. The tart was simply yummy.

Next we had the liu sha bao, custard bun. This was not as good as the one I tried at The Grandstand branch where they had coffee flavored bun. This one was a bit plain to me though.

Then we had a plate of carrot cake. This dish was disappointing. It was very oily and very salty. We had it returned and they cancelled it from our order. good service recovery I must say.

Last we had roasted duck bun. This was a very interesting dish. There was crunchy lettuce, sweet mango and the very flavourful duck meat. I thought the combination was pretty amazing.
