must buy from uncle! Smile Oct 03, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre | Juices

Had this today.
The uncle's sugarcane juice is the best, only $1 for a generous amount - with no additional water added.
some drinks hawkers i know, add water to dilute the sugarcane, but this uncle don't!

Anyway, I felt sad when I saw the uncle struggling to grind the sugarcane with the machine.
A bit emotional, but I felt like crying, because the uncle looks so frail and yet he has to stand the whole day to do this business (okay, I know other hawkers too la, but I just feel more sad for this uncle).

Since his sugarcane is so fresh, do remember to patronize his stall whenever you want sugarcane!
I'm sure I will!

one of the best dinner Smile Apr 12, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

I had one of the best dinner yesterday at Sushi Tei.
Maybe I was too hungry tongue
But, the sushi there were rather delish! Fresh and good.
It could also be because we made the right choices

Look at the sushi platter!
I especially love the tuna sushi.
Do order this when you're there

The beef sukiyaki was good too.

my absolute favourite was the kaki mentai roll
I love the fried oyster hidden in the roll + the sauce on top.

I'll be back for more!

Their signature pasta, Saveur's pasta, was a true delight.
For $4.90, it was a dish not to be missed.
I love how flavourful it was, almost like an aglio olio minus the garlic.
There was a generous serving of sakura ebi, but I didnt see much minced pork.
Shared this with my friend, and I was longing for more.

The next must order is the Foie Gras with lentils.
I was initially against ordering this dish since the last time I had Foie Gras, it was horrible.
What I imagined was thick, disgusting liver...ewww.
Thankfully my friend chose this, and I was able to try it.
It was sooo good.
I felt the Foie Gras just melt into my mouth once I bite it.
Love the lentil infused sauce all over the foie gras

My friend got the Duck Confit which was supposedly their bestseller.
I liked the creamy mash potato and the mushrooms, but I thought that the duck leg meat was a little too tough for me.
After having my Bebek Garing in Bali and Batam, I felt that the taste of duck should be best left at that, LOL.
That was why I didn't order the duck confit over here.

I got myself the Pan Seared Sea Bass.
Didn't like the texture of the sea bass, and I thought the meat wasn't juicy.
My friend felt that it tasted fresh though.
The only plus points of this dish for me, was the potatoes.
And, who can forget the dish presentation!

Plus points for the Pistachio Panna Cotta!
I thought it was green tea at first haha!
Topped with ground and caramelised pistachio nuts, it was good and creamy.
However, I'm the kind who can't take too much milky and creamy stuff, so I only took 2 mouths before the rest were wiped by my friend.
I think this can be listed as a must order too!

Lastly, I had the Textures of Citrus.
I wanted a refreshing dessert because of the fried and oily dishes I had, plus my throat was itching.
When it came, the people sitting near me went "WOW".
Awesome presentation, yet again.
This was indeed refreshing, although the acidic and sour taste became a little too strong for my stomach.
This dessert consists of orange Ice shavings and grapefruit jelly, topped with the salty crushed cornflakes and meringue bits.
You could taste sweet, sour and a touch of citrus bitterness.
Kinda love it!

Second visit Smile Oct 13, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Back for a second time, the first was to try the KING ramen
This time, I had the Autumn ramen, and it was just as good.

The free flow of eggs don't need anymore mention - this time I had 2 eggs.
Well, free flow doesn't mean have to keep eating it please - control your intake haha

Anyway, Autumn did not disappoint too.
The weird thing was, I asked for less chicken oil.
But my bf and I felt that my soup had even more chicken oil taste?
Anyway, the noodles i ordered was in normal texture too - it was Q and perfect - and I love it.

The pork char siew on the other hand was a little disappointing.
I didnt finish the whole big slice of char siew because it felt too tough.
I only ate the edges with the fats :X
Well, I love fatty stuffs oops

Anyway, as much as I love the ramen here, it's time to explore their other chains.!
Looking forward to other varieties of ramen they offer

I like it Smile Oct 13, 2013

Came to Dr.CAFE at 112 katong and I'm pretty happy with this cafe chain. I always prefer hot drinks over cold ones. Ordered the hot caramel macchiato latte and I love it! Although, aesthetically, this was one of the most ugly and not creative design... but doesn't matter la. Anyway, the sweetness was just nice for me. It costs $6 for your info, and I think this drink scores for me.

Just thinking about it makes me wanna go back haha. Try it if you wish smile I suggest trying out the cakes as well, but I was too full to do so!
Well, next time!
