Sticky Date Pudding OK Oct 07, 2013

I have been to Wimbly Lu on many previous occasions and I always seek to try different desserts on each visit. This time, I passed by and decided to takeaway 2 desserts I've not tried before from Wimbly Lu. I got the sticky date pudding which I heard is quite popular - a moist pudding which is quite sweet, and accompanied with caramel sauce; wouldn't recommend this on your first visit. I also got their tiramisu, which didn't impress either. Many people go for their waffle with ice cream, which I hope to try next.

Fishball Noodle OK Oct 07, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre

I was looking for a quick lunch and settled on mee pok from this stall which sells fishball noodles. There was a short queue during off peak lunch hours, and my friend has recommended this stall previously, so I decided to give it a try. It's an average bowl of fish ball noodles, and the mee pok was a little dry but still tangy. The fishballs were chewy and didn't taste too much like flour. Soup had MSG taste though.

Good chinese cuisine OK Oct 07, 2013

Putien is a good place for a meal with your family, and a good alternative to crystal jade and the like. I tried the spinach with salted egg and century egg in supreme stock, which costs $12.90. The broth was very tasty and goes well with rice without being overly salty. I also tried their oyster omelette, which was rather overpriced at $16.90, was fried till crispy but nothing fantastic.

Spending per head: Approximately $16(Dinner)

Sheng Kee is always a good place for desserts, as they have a variety of fruit based and traditional desserts. We came here after dinner, and I got the aloe vera lemon grass jelly dessert topped with strawberry bits. It was a refreshing dessert and not overly sweet and neither did it taste like syrup. My friends got the mango pomelo sago - pretty common dessert and tends to be sweeter, and the mango pudding - was quite alright, not too soggy.

Grass Jelly OK Oct 06, 2013

Blackball is always a good place for desserts if you like silky grass jelly; they also have other new drinks like red bean milkshake etc. I got a bowl of their signature grass jelly (didn't like it that they increased their price from $4.90 to $5.40) with taro and sweet potato and red beans. Add the creamer given and it tastes even better. However, it's very filling and best to share.
