Hokkien Mee OK Oct 04, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

I was craving for some hokkien noodles and decided to try this stall; have previously tried the hokkien mee from another stall at changi village hawker and was mediocre. There wasn't any queue and I got my food in 5 mins. Amount of ingredients added - prawns and squid were alright, and the noodles was moist with broth. However, it's not the best i've tried and the broth is not too flavourful.

Nasi Lemak OK Oct 04, 2013

I've tried before the popular Mizzy Corner nasi lemak and also International nasi lemak, so I decided to try this stall this time round, which also had quite a long queue - I queued for around 15 mins. Got their nasi lemak with chicken wings - crispy and well marinated, better than that from Mizzy Corner; also had an egg and ikan bilis. Rice was also fragrant. A cheap and satisfying meal.

Donuts OK Oct 04, 2013

Donuts are always a good option when you are craving for something sweet and a snack on the go. I stopped by j.co and got 2 donuts - the green tea flavoure one with almond flakes was good, I like the distinct green tea taste and the almond flakes are very crispy; I also got the common oreo flavoured one - it's just a donut dusted with oreo bits, if you're a fan of oreo you would like this.

Spending per head: Approximately $2(Tea)

Chocolate Tarts Smile Oct 04, 2013

Categories : Bakery

My brother bought these chocolate tarts home from this famous cake shop at Katong. Their banana pies are supposedly heavenly but were sold out on that day, so I didn't get to try them. The chocolate tarts taste really good when chilled, in bite size so you won't feel sick of it. The chocolate is very rich, and also not overly sweet. It costs around 70 cents or 80 cents per piece.

Oyster Mee Sua Smile Oct 04, 2013

Categories : Taiwanese

This branch of Shihlin is located just right at the Interchange and thus convenient for takeaways. I've tried their mushroom and cheese crepes before and it's quite good. This time, I ordered the oyster mee sua - they have one of the better oyster mee suas around (even better than that at eat at taipei). Oysters were quite a lot and I especially like the shredded chicken added to the mee sua.
