Lunch OK Oct 03, 2013

I have tried their semi-buffet lunch before and came here a second time. They have several mains to choose from like char-grilled chicken leg, braised beef, seafood linguine, chicken wrap, char-grilled sirloin, etc. I went for the wrong choice of smoked salmon wrap - salmon wasn't fresh and the wrap was dry and hard to swallow, didn't finish it. The free flow desserts were alright, the mango pudding was not bad. Wanted to have some fruits but they didn't replenish.

Spending per head: Approximately $18(Lunch)

Durian Mooncake Smile Oct 02, 2013

I got this piece of durian mooncake as a gift, think it's some charcoal-skin durian mooncake. Packaging was nice and each piece individually packed in a tiny styrofoam box. The durian mooncake was heavenly - slightly icy but the interior is smooth and moist. The durian was extremely rich and very fragrant. The snow skin complemented the mooncake well, was thin and a little velvety.

Longevity Tea Smile Oct 02, 2013

Got this Longevity Tea from TWG as a gift; it's supposedly good to pair it with mooncakes. It's actually white tea, and has a "raw and crystalline flavour, sparkling and fresh". I would say that it's very smooth tasting, clear, and has a distinct fragrance and after-taste. It's indeed good to pair it with mooncakes, and avoid adding sugar to the tea to taste it's natural flavour.

Snow Skin Mooncake OK Oct 02, 2013

After browsing Openrice's mooncake article, I got myself a box of the Royal Jade Collection from Bakerzin. Service at the Tampines branch was great when I went to collect. The carrier that came with it was pretty, and presentation of the mooncakes was good. This is the mung bean mooncakes collection. The one I liked most was the Purple sweet potato snowskin, the paste was very smooth. Didn't like the Green Tea Mung Bean Red Bean one although i'm a fan of green tea - the red bean paste was very hard to swallow and dry. Overall, pretty average, and i'm sure the alcohol flavours collection would be better.

i got a box of Single Yolk with White Lotus Paste (Low Sugar) Mooncake as a gift. It was indeed low sugar as it wasn't too sweet compared to the other traditional mooncakes. This was also one of the better traditional mooncakes i've tried - the white lotus seed paste was very smooth, better than that of mei xin's white lotus paste mooncake. The skin was also not thick, and egg yolk well done.
