Food is so-so...

Had my dinner over there with my sister to celebrate her birthday.

The foods are very typical American style - non-delicate (but not in a bad way), flavourful, and horribly huge in portion.

The Fish N Chips should have give more sauce. I got barely enough sauce for half portion of the fish.

Screaming fried shrimps for the starters and it was tasteless and floury.

Roasted chicken was very huge in portion, which is good, but is not particular done well. The breast part is rather dry and tasteless. The sauce does address the dryness to some extent, the fries and potato wedges are not bad.

Hong Kong Cuisine  OK Jun 26, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

After a midnight show, we went for dessert.

Reservation: Not needed, just wait.

We tried the mango dessert, not too bad, slightly sweet. Their ice milk tea was not too thick, just nice for me. Most of their cool drinks come in metal mugs, which is kinda unique. It keeps the drink cold for a long time.

Tried their muachee which is tasty and the peanut butter + condensed milk thick toast here. The toast really lives up to its name, cos it's really thick (about the size of 4 slices of NTUC bread)! After being toasted, the bread was warm and the crust slightly crispy, which we liked.

Food / Beverage: Hong Kong style cafe, tried the pineapple "Poh Loh Pau" and their thick toast with coffee and tea. Tea was excellent, so was their coffee. Pineapple in bread bun was an experience and memorable. Thick toast was OK.

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Supper)

Pasta. Mania!! OK Jun 25, 2013

I have not been to PastaMania in awhile...while waiting for job interview, I had lunch at Pastamania. PastaMania is well known for its cheap & good pasta, I believe majority people know that.

I had the Seafood Pasta Set which came with a creamy chicken soup and drink. The paste was not well mixed up in the pasta so I had to "work" for my dinner by doing some mixing. The combination of that and a mushroom cream sauce worked out well. Also, it had generous portions of seafood ingredients like clam, prawn and squid so it was a sumptuous lunch!

Affordable Japanese dishes Smile Jun 25, 2013

I went to Ajisen for many years, it was one and my buddy of the favourite dining places. The soup was thick and nice, the ramen taste just so nice for us. What's more, the meal looks attractive with an add-on side dish and drink.

Noodles were the straight kind, served firm. Cabbage, kelp and bean sprouts were generous but did not overwhelm..

Nothing to shout about the service or ambience. Ajisen is, in essence to me, a place to have a quick casual meal of ramen and some other light Japanese dishes.

Spending per head: Approximately $12(Lunch)

Brunch! OK Jun 24, 2013

Haven't been to Delifrance in years, so thought I'll try it. I had to pay a visit of my friend at Thomson Hospital where there was a Delifrance outlet. I remember I loved Delifrance's various sandwich fillings, especially their tuna fillings. My usual always is the Tuna Mayo Croissant bread were easy on the palate. It tastes equally good, the serving of the filling is also quite generous.
