TIM HO WAN (TYP)  Smile Dec 17, 2013

ONE WORD: SUPERB! This is my very first trying time trying TIM HO WAN, because I always get turned off by it very long queue. Imagine i am standing outside the store, watching those people inside eat and with my growling stomach, i think i will just faith outside the store. I don't know why i am so lucky today that i managed to drop by TYP and there was no queue at all ( weekday around 3pm) . So what i ordered: carrot cake, shui jing jiao, HK style chang fen and their most famous bbq bun (which also my favourite)! The carrot cake was oily but you will not feel sick after eating, it is so soft and serve hot! The chang fen which taste a little different from what Singapore had, but is still nice! The only think that i don't like is the sauce, it think too much sauce was spread on it and "cover" the original taste of the chang fen. I loved the prawns in the shui jing jiao., is so big and sweet! The bbq bun was their signature dish and is a must try! I don't know how the chef did it, with 3 different texture in 1 bun, crispy on the outside, soft in the middle and a little in the inner to prevent the bbq pork from leaking. I spend a total of $22 for all 4 dishes and it is quite worth it for a Michelin star standard! smile

How can anyone not like Paris Baguette? It was one of the best ever pastry i had ever eaten. I was having my tai tai life with another of my girl friend and here is my order: Apple pastry and caramel pudding. I spend $8 in total which i think is reasonable, imagine you went to those 5 stars hotel, you will definitely pay more than that. The caramel pudding was sweet and if you are not a caramel lover (like my friend) you will find it bitter instead. The pastry was crispy and the texture was much more like crackers. i am also very amazed that how the apple able to sustain it juiciness even after baked?!

MK restaurant  Smile Dec 17, 2013

My very first time trying Mk despite there is another outlet at somerset. I had tried it once in phuket and think i prefer the one in phuket regardless of price or the standard of food. The manager and the staff are all friendly, in fact he went around the table to explain the kind of sauces available to his customers. The sauce is what that make MK special, cause you will not able to find the same kind of sauce outside. I ordered a plate of MK special at $34 and mixed soup based at $10.90 plus green noodles which i can't remember how much. In total, i spend $50plus alone, which is very expensive for a meal, hence, it is recommended to go bigger group. The tom yum is quite unique, much more sour than you expect. MK special consists of all ingredients from vegetables to meat so it is recommended for people that do not know what to order. Their roast duck was nice (i remember when i ordered a lot when i was in phuket), however, i didn't try in Singapore MK as i was too full to continue.

Another thing i like was the dumplings, actually i thought they are all frozen but i was wrong. I will definitely come back again with my friends.

Ps: i also get a 10% discount card and free plushie for their opening.

Bear Bites Cry Dec 17, 2013

Well, this happened to be my first try in the restaurant but it is going to be last try too. I bought a groupon at $9 for $20 worth of food. I didn't really know what to buy cause the choice are so limited, so the staff tell us to "upgrade" our fries to cheese fries, i agreed willingly. I had put very very high expectation on the food because there are a lot of positive reviews on bear bites. HOWEVER, I WAS WRONG. i choose the fish instead of chicken cause i thought is healthier but i was wrong cause both are fried. I feel very sick after eating awhile. Then, i continue eating my cheese fries, OMG, it was so terrible, very salty and it actually numb my tongue! similarity i throw more than 50% of it. omg, i will never return again for sure.
it was actually at a open area outdoor which is quite easy to find but there will not be any seats available when it start to rain! sad

Well, this is my first time trying this Mini Cheesecake at $3.50 for 100g (i find it a little too expensive). To be honest, i didn't really like the taste cause to me cheese cake should be served cold instead of warm. I supposed it was fresh baked cause the texture was very soft, but there isn't much cheesy taste too. Since I was there during a weekday, there wasn't any people queuing at all and they also had free sample for the customers to try on.
