Walking down the lanes of the queue, looking at the breads, winking at you "PICK ME"! So many choices to spoil yourself with, tarts, cakes, breads, puddings however, calories count!

Ice Flakes with Red Beans.
SGD 9

Milk and red beans is your cup of tea? Milk flavored shaved ice topped with red beans. It goes real smooth down your throat leaving a soft taste of milk on your taste buds. From a block of ice to the finest ice, shaved ice coated with milk. The mixture of both is perfect.

Left:
Royal Pudding (Original)
SGD 4

Right:
Royal Pudding (Caramel)
SGD 4.50

I tried both however I would recommend you to try the Original pudding first because it have the lightest taste among all. Softly melting by every bit of smoothness on your tongue, slipping thru your throat and melt in your heart. How good can it feel?

Mushroom Foccacia.
SGD 2.90

Potato top on the bread and cover with mushrooms lastly. I bought this bread, it really looks cute and, I really love mushrooms! I don't really like this.

Left:
Crunch Crunch Choco
SGD 6.50

Right:
Sunny Breezy Lemon
SGD 7.50

I'm not really a fans of chocolate cakes. For crunch crunch choco, there are bits of crunch in between the sponges. Sunny Breezy Lemon would be the gem I have found! I'm also a lover of lemon, I simply love sour stuff. It taste sweet but with the tip of lemon, so perfect! The sponges for both cake are really soft, very soft. They really put effort when they bake.

Lemon Ade
SGD 8

Filled with slices of lemon, sparkled sprite. Lemon sprite for you? Coke is too mainstream for you?
I was really praying hard it would be sweet and sour at the same time however I would say it's a great disappointment for this. It taste like.. Lemon in sprite, probably this ain't my taste. And, I was pouting when I drank it.

Overall, it cost me about SGD 42.40, not that bad. It's pretty worth the try. Don't miss the chance to try everything there. You will be spoil for choices! Buttons up, calories shooting.

Happy Birthday! OK Jun 28, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Dinner with my family to celebrate my brother's 18th Birthday. We could not really make up our mind where to eat and we are only left with 2 hours before all the restaurant would be close. I would say it's probably not a mistake to choose Sushi Tei @ Thomson plaza.

We live at Yio Chu Kang Road and the nearest place to have a proper dinner would be at Thomson plaza, not very big but at least there are varieties. That's not very bad though.

When we arrived at the place, it's really packed. About 5 groups are already in the queue. Not very bad service, he took my dad's number and told us to talk a walk; waiting time is about 30minutes. Pretty turn off because the waiting time is pretty long though.

We waited about 20-25 minutes before we could get a table. However, I would say, not very bad. The seats that are assigned to us are pretty spacious. Enough to fit 4 adults and 2 kids.

However, another thing I would like to comment is the service, so many waitress and waiters walked pass us and no one really bother when I placed my hands up. It was really frustrating. The next moment, I directly said, excuse me to a waitress, she was fast enough to catch me so she came over to take our order.

Tako Wasabi ($5)

I don't really eat this, because I don't take raw food. My parents and siblings really love it and finished the whole bowl of it. The wasabi flavour was strong enough.

Fish Roe ($5)

I don't take this fish roe too, however it seems like a lot of Singaporeans love this.

California Hand Roll ($4)

It just taste like normal rolls however, the mayonnaise is not enough. A little dry.

Cha Soba ($11)

My mom order this, tried a little. The noodles is a little plain, no chilled enough. The taste of green tea ain't there.

Chilled Udon ($10)

My sister order this, however I share a little with her. The udon is really tasteless and the shouyu don't go well with the soba. I doubt this food taste good though.

Yakitori Don ($9.50)

This is my standard order, however today's try was really bad. The teriyaki sauce really little, the rice seems very sticky and watery. The chicken was not cooked well.

More room for improvement. Cry Jun 27, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop | Bak Kut Teh

I was looking for lighting for my new room, my dad and mom suggested Mohammad Sultan because there are many shops around that area. We were looking for a quick bite, we parked at UE square and walked over. We reached the corner of the road which is this shop which sells bak kut teh. My dad did not wanted to waste time so we decided to settle for this place for dinner.

Probably, I would say I might not come again because of the food and services. We sat down, my dad went to place the order and shortly after it's served. We have 3 bak kut teh, 1 pig liver soup, 1 preserved vegetable, 1 you tiao, 1 pig trotters and 3 rice. It cost about $40 for 3 pax, for this price I would rather spend it on Keppel Bak Kut Teh.

Let's start with the first service they serve us. They placed the food down pretty unwillingly, and my dad was almost got burnt by the soup. The server did not even apologise. Pretty bad service. We wanted to order drinks, we place our hands up but no one came over until about 10 mins later. We tried to convince ourselves they were busy.

The pork ribs was horrible, the meat is so stiff, the soup taste like pepper with water and nothing taste okay to me. Somehow, my dad likes the soup. He wanted more, so I told him I would help him to ask for refill. When I walk over, I was greeted by an unwelcome face "black face", I ask for more soup, she gave it so unwillingly. Well, I would pay if the refill needs to be paid for, I won't mind. But as for the bad service, I was really upset with it.

Overall, I would never never come back to a place with bad service and they don't even serve good food.

Never fail to melt my taste buds. Smile Jun 25, 2013

Categories : Bakery | Hotel

I'm a frequent of Baker's story (Sin Ming) However, I was meeting the boss there, Jimmy for some business deals. He is a pretty nice guy to talk with. My understanding of his brownies started like 4 years back. I can never explain how much I really love baker's story's brownies. They're really great in taste, great in look and probably one of the best brownies I have ever tasted.

This time, Jimmy treated me half a brownie with my boss the other half because we just had our lunch not long, dessert good choice to go with!

I would still go back to my all time favorite still, Mint Cheese Brownie.

The mint is so refreshing, reaching to your taste bud unknowingly that it probably would melt your senses. The cheese and chocolate is so rich that it would have a strong after taste of mint. I really liked it so much. I can't really express how much I thank Jimmy for coming up with this brownie. Thank you so much.

However, we decided to buy back to allow our colleagues to try. So we go for the assorted brownies, which have most of the flavours. Really good to go and nice to try. I would say some of my colleagues do know Baker's Story existence. Well, it's pretty wasted if no one know them because only they would be able to showcase how did cheese brownie even come about.

They have really varieties of flavours: mint, banana, macadamia nuts, orange cheese, original, oreo, and it ranges from S$1.90 - S$2.30 per piece. It's really very worthwhile.

Give it a try, people!

Japanese foodie. Cry Jun 21, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

A great lunch to do the work of the day. Filling your tummy with good that would do you good. For this meal, I think I have been overfilling my tummy that it almost exploded.

A good meal with my man, his sister and his sister boyfriend. Raving through the crowds at Jcube, browsing menus all over just to look for a specific Japanese restaurant to rest our legs and spend a few hours there. Everywhere was having a dragon-like queue and Watami probably was having the shortest queue but it was pretty packed too. The square feet of the restaurant was huge enough to fit about 50 people.

We are lazy to order different set meals hence, we just took the whole set meal for 4 pax. It cost about $169++. The serving was huge, but the food wasn't very fresh. We barely finished everything. It comes with a hotpot, a set of cold dish, a chirashi don, grill squid, clams hotplate soup.

The cold dish hotate was not even fresh. The shrimp tasted really bad. The grill squid was cold. The broth for the hotpot was pretty salty. Hmm, after all for the price I have paid, I believe we can have something much more better and worthwhile.

The staff service was really bad, they placed the wrong food at the wrong table. We wanted to order, kept our hands raising for about 10 mins ad only by then, they came to our table. Calling for bills, they're not attentive enough.
