Operating under the umbrella of Skinny Pizza, O My Dog has 2 outlets in Singapore, both located right next to a Skinny Pizza store. The first, in Great World City, currently holds the record for the longest operating Hot Dog stand in Singapore, having outlasted all its competitors since it began in September 2011.

Ambience varies depending on which O My Dog outlet you visit. The Great World City outlet is a stand-and-eat / takeaway kiosk, whose main attraction is the van-like facade, with the O My Dog logo / balloon dog / sausage links dog on top. The new 100AM outlet is a sit-down cafe, with bright lighting, barely comfortable furniture meant for only short visits, and cramped floor layout.

Service at O My Dog stems from the same Skinny Pizza staff, whose service is average at best. While friendly, I find that most of the staff seem to be quite brusque and rushed, even during non-peak periods. Not so good.
O My Dog specialises mainly in creative Hot Dogs... don't expect to find your usual hot dogs here! Recipes are unusual, inspired by cuisines of various countries. But while the toppings are creative and tasty, the quality of the actual hot dogs / sausages used is only average, little better than the low quality ones you get in movie theatres. Prices are much cheaper than anywhere else though.
The Singaporean inspired Hot Dog Bak Chor Mee (SGD $7) featues a grilled pork sausage, sour tangy minced pork braised in vinegar, fresh crunchy grated cucumber strips and a slightly spicy sambal mayonnaise. Garnished with spring onions, I felt this was creative, but doesn't taste close to what a typical Bak Chor Mee should taste like. Decent.

The French inspired Le Dog (SGD $7) features a grilled chicken sausage, pickled thyme, sweet red onion jam relish, and fragrant earthy black truffle mayonnaise. The contrast of sweetness and earthy taste work well together, and this unusual flavour combination makes this an above average dish.

The Japanese inspired The Shogun's Misses (SGD $6.50) features a grilled beef sausage topped with shredded pickled white daikon radish salsa, nori seaweed strands, wasabi mayonnaise, and sesame seeds. This shogun with poor aim / or who is unfaithful to his wife has a pleasant overall taste, very similar to a Okonomiyaki pizza in its contrast of crunchy and sweet.

The creativity extends to desserts as well, such as this Malaysian inspired Onde-Onde Cupcake (SGD $3.50). Palm sugar / Gula Melaka infused dessicated coconut makes for a sweet center, while the pandan / screwpine leaf infused cake is light and fragrant. Topped with pandan / screwpine leaf frosting and shredded young coconut, this is an excellent dessert, highly recommended!

Full The Grocer By Sterling review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/05/the-grocer-by-sterling.html

The Grocer By Sterling is a integrated service provider by Sterling Trends & Concepts Pte Ltd, located in the rather ulu Media Circle road in Normanton Park area. Because of its concept, The Grocer By Sterling is easily the only convienence store located anywhere near this area, and provides a wide range of services.
Such services provided by The Grocer By Sterling include dry cleaning and laundry, sale of phone cards, a small minimart / convienence store with snacks, amenities, and drinks. The Grocer By Sterling also has an integrated cafe and bar, with a snooker / pool table. This makes the ambience here outstanding, almost like dining in a premium supermarket, and you can even choose indoor or outdoor seating! Brightly lit, furniture is semi comfortable and functional, generally quite quiet because there aren't many people.

Staff at The Grocer By Sterling are friendly, though there usually is only 1 or 2 of them at any time. Still, they are able to make recommendations on the various options from the decent sized menu. Food is prepared nearly from scratch, which means a short waiting time of 15 - 20 minutes before you're served. Trust me though, the food is definitely worth the wait!
The Grocer By Sterling offers a variety of cuisine here, mainly Asian cuisine such as Chinese, Singaporean, Filipino and Thai, as well as Western cuisine such as American, Italian and British. There is a good range of tasty main dishes and bar snack, with portion sizes being above average. Prices at The Grocer By Sterling are extremely affordable, costing less than SGD $10 per dish!
Beer Ryan And The Beaster Bunny (SGD $8.50) is a seasonal Denmark saison beer that has a deep straw colour with a cloudy body, aroma of lemon, cloves and bread, with a light, sweet, fruity taste of pear and grapes, with a smooth and clean finish.

Beer Mongozo Mango (SGD $7.50) takes its name from the Chokwe tribe of Zambia, which means "To Your Health!". A fruity and sweet tropical brew with a prominent mango taste, this straw coloured beer has a sweet, slick texture like velvet, and a sugary finish that lingers on the palate.

I loved the Sweet Potato Fries (SGD $7) here! Thick cut, cooked perfectly till crisp outside, yet still soft inside, with a intense sweet potato flavour, this is a great bar snack. Good enough even without any extra sauce!

The Adobo (SGD $8) is considered the national dish of the Philippines. This Filipino creation consists of onions, pork loin and pork belly, marinated in garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar, served with potatoes and an egg. The Adobo is excellent, well balanced salty, savoury and sour taste without being overpowering. The meat is beautifully lean and tender, and the potatoes and egg just soft enough. All porcine fans should try this at least once in their life!

Another dish from the Philippines, the Sinigang (SGD $8) is a braised pork belly soup / broth, with onions, eggplant, garlic, orka, tomato, white daikon radish, water spinach / kang kong. The signature sour and savoury flavour of the soup comes from tamarind. The Sinigang here is pretty good, with tender meat and fresh vegetable, but the balance is slightly off, being more salty than sour.

Part retro diner, part vintage museum, Kombi Rocks (Diner) took over a now defunct coffee shop called Koon Kee at this location along Yio Chu Kang Road. Popular for their affordable Asian style food and great ambience, Kombi Rocks (Diner) can see queues of up to 1 hour, unless you make reservations in advance!
Kombi Rocks Exterior

Kombi Rocks Exterior

The ambience at Kombi Rocks (Diner) is retro / vintage themed. Decor is a combination of tributes to music, mostly featuring the Beatles, and tributes to vehicles. Furniture is a throwback to the past, with old barber chairs or wooden coffee shop chairs, mixed with metallic tables. Space is small, and tables are packed quite close together. Even the layout is different, ranging from family style zi char table dining, to cozy couple 2 seaters.
The fleet of classic / retro vehicles here are available for rental, and are normally taken up by wedding packages. Toy memorabilia displayed in the cabinets are for sale. And on Tuesday and Thursday nights, Kombi Rocks (Diner) hosts live musicians playing golden oldies.

Service at Kombi Rocks (Diner) is semi self-service, where you order and make payment at the counter, but staff wil serve your order to the table. Staff are generally young, perhaps part-timers, and quite friendly, able to make recommendations if asked. Food is also served quite quickly even despite peak periods, normally between 10 - 20 minutes.
Food at Kombi Rocks (Diner) revolves around Asian cuisine, featuring a mix of influences ranging from Thai, to Chinese, to Singaporean. But there is some hint of Western style influence as well, as Kombi Rocks (Diner) is also a bar, with a decent range of drinks / beer / wine, and bar snacks. Prices are very affordable per dish, but you'll need to reserve a table if you don't want to wait too long!
The bottled beers here are among the cheapest in Singapore, with a Beer Stella Artois at SGD $8, and a German Beer Krombacher Weizen at SGD $9.
I love the intense red bean flavour of the Pulut Hitam Red Bean Ice Cream (SGD $5). Studded throughout with red beans, the consistency is smooth, but doesn't melt easily, great for the sunny weather in Singapore.

A twist on the classic Chinese Red Wine Chicken from Foochow / Fujian cuisine, the Red Wine Chicken Wings (SGD $15) are deep fried chicken wings doushed with a Chinese red wine sauce. The chicken wings have a crisp, savoury skin, and well cooked but juicy meat. The sauce is lovely, with a tinge of tangy and sweet... Very good!

The Hand Made Thai Fishcake (SGD $8) is excellent! 3 lumps of well cooked fishcake, the exterior skin is crisp and flavourful with herbs and Thai spices, while the interior fish meat is soft and smooth. Not too oily, I only wish there was a bigger portion of it!

Yum Cha Restaurant is a Chinese fine dining Dim Sum / Zi Char franchise chain, known for their use of high quality ingredients, masterfully prepared and beautifully presented dishes, and justifiably high prices. Yum Cha Restaurant also provides a catering delivery service, that is best utilized by large groups.
Ambience at Yum Cha Restaurant is typical of a premium fine dining restaurant, which touches of Imperial elegance and splendor. Chinese decor and plants adorn the room, as do images of Koi fish in the Yin Yang formation. Fine cutlery and tableware is used, and the large floor space has spacious room for many guests.

Service befits a fine dining establishment as well. Yum Cha Restaurant staff are observant and attentive, topping up drinks without request and making sure your dining experience goes well. They are polite and efficient, with food being prepared and served relatively quickly. They also accede to certain change requests. Very good.
Food at Yum Cha Restaurant revolves around either Dim Sum or Zi Char. Their Zi Char dishes look and taste great, but portions are quite small, and prices are high per dish, even for simple ones with low cost ingredients. Their set menus are slightly more value for money, but the price listed is nowhere near the ballpark amount you'll pay.
The Dim Sum at Yum Cha Restaurant is the star though, and the best time to dine at Yum Cha Restaurant is when their buffets are available.
The complementary Braised Peanuts were undercooked, and slightly hard. Would be better off if it were braised longer till soft. Also, the sauce is underwhelming.

The taste of the Fish Maw In Thick Seafood Soup was excellent. Thick and savoury with a pleasing yellow colour and a seafood / crustacean taste, the portion of ingredients within is decent.

The Stir Fried Scallop Suillus With Asparagus was slightly oily at the base, but the spice combined well with the fresh, crunchy, and large asparagus. The scallops were medium sized, plump, and perfectly cooked. Portion was just nice for 4 people.

I thought the Beancurd With Shimeji Mushrooms And Vegetables was the weakest dish here. Neither very tasty or spectacular. And the sauce tasted and looked similar to the prior soup course. The ingredients were fresh though.

A casual and clean cafe serving authentic cuisine of the Philippines, Turo Turo is tucked away in the quiet Changi Business Park area, and mostly frequented by office workers during lunch. Boasting home cooked Filipino food that is tasty and affordable, Turo Turo The Pinoy Kitchen is a true hidden gem.
Toy Jeepney

Toy Jeepney

Ambience at Turo Turo is comfortable and casual, with distinct touches of decor from the Philippines. Model toys and other knick knacks that represent Filipino culture are spread throughout the interior, and the brightly lit signboard displaying the menu is a huge eye-catcher. Lighting within is moderate, though I felt the furniture was functional but not so comfortable.
Turo Turo Seating

Service at Turo Turo is very good. The usual Filipino courtesy and hospitality is evident, staff are friendly and welcoming, food is prepared and served quickly. Though Turo Turo looks like a self-service place, staff actually serve you tableside. Communication is acceptable, staff can converse well in English.
Food at Turo Turo is simple, authentic, rustic Filipino fare. Dishes have a good portion size, and prices are lower than normal for a cafe, costing an average of less than SGD $10 per person. Presentation of food is lacking, looking somewhat simple, but is tasty and hearty.

The Beer San Miguel is among the cheapest in Singapore, with a bottle costing an amazing low price of SGD $4.50!

Tapsilog (SGD $7) is a traditional Filipino dish that consists of cured beef (Tapa) grilled to perfection, garlic fried rice (Sinangag), and a fried egg (Itlog). The Tapsilog here is literal in its interpretation, those are the only items you're served. But the beef is still moist and very tasty, with good grill flavour and smokiness. The garlic fried rice is fragrant and each grain has a nice coating of flavour, although it looks plain.

The Tocino With Tomato And Salted Egg (SGD $8) features a cured pork bacon (Tocino) that has a sweet and tart flavour, and is less salty than regular bacon. Balanced by the freshness of the tomato and the saltiness of the salted egg, the Tocino With Tomato And Salted Egg is a comfort meal.
