Sliced beef noodles Smile Jul 29, 2013

Sliced Beef Noodles, Dry ($4.50)

One of the better and more affordable sliced beef noodles around.

As you can see, there's a generous amount of ingredients, on top of a mountain of sauce and noodles. It's really delicious too.

I'd say this version is different from Hock Lam Beef Noodle's version, but not necessarily inferior. Although the herbal taste in the sauce is less distinct as compared to Hock Lam's, I'd say there's still a lovely meaty fragrance in this.

Most importantly, although this is located in a food court, it's affordable and I'm willing to go to this food court to pay half the price (as compared to Hock Lam's) for a good bowl of hearty noodles.

soya bean icecream Smile Jul 29, 2013

Soyabean Ice Cream (cup), $1.80

One of my favourite icecreams I turn to, whenever I'm looking for a not-so-guilty icecream indulgence.

This time round, it's not as thick and creamy as I remember it to be. I'm not sure if there has been a tweak in recipe, or just the slight difference in consistency between different outlets. This one was less creamy, but slightly stronger soyabean taste. Nonetheless, this lighter version is also just as good as the creamier version.

Durian McFlurry OK Jul 29, 2013

Durian McFlurry, $2.80

Vanilla icecream with Durian flakes.

Many people have given good reviews, but I don't think I'd go back for a second try. For some reason I felt a little sick after eating this.

It was o-k generally; if you are looking for strong durian flavour, it was definitely evident, but it was the artificially sweet kind of durian taste, coming from the toppings and mixing into the vanilla icecream.

I enjoy durian icecreams that taste more authentic, like the real fruit itself, so I guess I'll stick to Udders' Mao Shan Wang!

Giant pizza Smile Jul 29, 2013

I've walked past Manhattan Pizza many many times, never tried it, but each time the temptation of the food increases.

So finally, here it is!

Meat Lovers Pizza, $6.80

The size of the pizza is huge! And considering the amount of food per slice, the price is rather reasonable, especially given that I had a meat pizza.

I like it that the crust is thin, and that every bite is full of ingredients and cheese.

Soy Pudding Smile Jul 29, 2013

Categories : Food Court

Tried the Soy Pudding from Jollibean, which is a relatively new item on their menu - looks like they, too, have jumped in the bandwagon of soyabean pudding, joining the ranks of Lao Ban, 51 Soya Beancurd, and QQ Soya Beancurd.

After tasting the soy pudding from so many stalls, the interesting thing is that most of them are rather unique themselves - 1 product, different versions.

$2 per tub

Texture is slightly bouncy. One of the thicker versions of soy pudding, and not too strong on the soyabean taste.

It is also quite substantial - 1 tub is filling enough to make a meal.
