Minced Meat Noodles OK Jul 23, 2013

I ordered this minced meat mee pok dry($3.50) but was given 2 pieces of prawn to replace pork meatball as they're running out of it.Their mee pok is over cooked and it is near to soggy kind.I still prefers mee pok that is QQ type. The tomato sauce is near to bland and i had to add the soy sauce to it to taste flavorful. The only plus point is the soup which quite naturally sweet.

For add on,i bought the fish cake($1.20).Their fish cake is remarkably good as it is QQ and does not have the fishy taste.

Oyster Omelette Smile Jul 23, 2013

This stall sells satay and oyster omelette and it is located at the end and in front of the BBQ chicken wings stall. The best of this oyster omelette($4) is the amount of oysters given. Every mouthful of the omelette you will get a oyster. Besides that, they cooked the oyster just nice as it is juicy and not raw taste at all. The starchy egg omelette is more to soft and fluffy rather than the crispy type. Their chilli is sweet and tangy that will eliminate the oiliness of the oyster omelette.

Takoyaki Smile Jul 23, 2013

From 6pm plus onwards the takoyaki are selling at 5 pieces for $3.I have got more choices to choose from since they have more than 5 different flavor.

I bought a mixed of octopus, prawn, mushroom & cheese, bacon & ham and chilli tuna. The takoyaki ball is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Out of all the flavors that I chose, I like the mushroom & cheese the most. The button mushrooms go very well with the sliced cheese. It is like a Western-Japanese fusion combination.

Cheapest Xiao Long Bao  Smile Jul 23, 2013

The stall is located in the Chinatown Complex Food Centre.it is best to remember the unit no. #02-135 in order to locate the stall as there are many stalls around.

When I was queuing for the food I could see that the stall owner was making the Xiao Long Bao on the spot. The Xiao Long Bao is still piping hot and I had to eat it using a spoon as I don't want to scald my tongue with the soup. The meat is mild flavored and since I like stronger taste I added more black vinegar and ginger slices to it.

The attractive price which is $5 for 10 pieces of Xiao Long Bao makes it worth trying!

Creamy Seafood Toast Smile Jul 23, 2013

Categories : Taiwanese

For authentic Taiwanese cuisine i would come to Eat at Taipei at Jcube. The restaurant is located besides the ice rink and you get to enjoy the ice rink scene.

I ordered their recommended side dish which is the Tainan coffin toast($8.90).In Taiwan, this is the well known street snack "棺材板" that somewhat look like a Chinese coffin but with a twist of western ingredients in it.I was told by the waitress the right way to eat the toast is to finish up the inside creamy ingredients then to the crispy toast.

The creamy sauce is not too overpowering and it brings out the flavor of the seafood. The shrimps and squids are fresh and not over cooked.I would definitely order this dish again when i visit Eat at Taipei.
