Nice Cafe to Chill Out Smile Apr 15, 2013

We were looking for a place for dinner, and came to House of Robert Timms. It's quite a nice place to chill out with friends. They have quite a good menu on food, drinks, and even wine. I like that they serve their sandwiches on whole grain bread.

The sandwich that I ordered was quite massive (haha), which is really not like what is shown on the menu. I guess for the house sandwich, 2 persons can share. Love the fries smile

I was quite happy to hear that Le Chasseur has moved to a location nearer to me. I brought hubby there for lunch one day, and we were quite happy with the food standard. And he is quite picky with claypot rice, so I guess the claypot rice there is really good.

We ordered a small chicken claypot rice (enough for 2 pax) and tau suan to share. I was more impressed with the tau suan with its caramel-sort-of taste, and the crispy you tiao.
sad

However, when we returned for dinner on another weekend with our family, the service is really slow and bad. They forgot about 1 of our orders, and yet they can claim that they were cooking that pot of rice. We had to wait for like 20 mins, only to realise they forgot about our order.

Quite a disappointing experience, and we have not returned since.

Nice Casual Dessert Smile Apr 15, 2013

Saw this new kiosk opened at Raffles City, and was curious to try out. Moreover, these sweets just look so cute!

Ordered Rum & Raisin for $2.90 per piece. It's nice that the cakes are handmade daily without preservatives.

The cake has a cake-exterior that opens up to a molten chocolatey centre. Gooey, slightly warm and niceeeee. Don't expect atas cafe standard, but I think S$2.90 a piece, it's really a good match for the quality vs price. A nice, fun and casual treat, especially if you are not intending to eat a standard slice of cake or dessert smile
