Great Place for Coffee and Cakes Smile Dec 07, 2013

Went there for cakes after lunch with my friend. She chose Patisserie G after looking through the cakes at various cafes haha!

I didn't really think of visiting this cafe, due to the prices of their cakes. But it definitely changed my mind after my first visit. The quality of the items offered are really good!

We had the Triomphe, French Hot Chocolate and Brioche Toast. All the 3 items were good. However, the hot chocolate was a little too overwhelmingly rich. It feels like you are drinking straight milk chocolate ganache! I have no complaints since I have some chocolate craving.

Definitely a cafe worth a visit, and re-visits!

Had lunch buffet at Town Restaurant, having heard some good reviews online.

As I am pregnant, the staff at the reservation counter was very thoughtful to provide cushion for me. I pretty much enjoyed the lunch session, though the savoury food were pretty average.

I particularly enjoyed their Hainanese Chicken Rice and Roasted Pork for the savoury food. What left more impression on me would be their dessert, especially the Bread & Butter Pudding and Apple Crumble.

Traditional Kueh Kueh Smile Nov 08, 2013

I was invited by the owner of the shop for a "kueh tour" and to understand their history.

I like their simplicity, no-frills, wanting to keep the costs down for the benefit of their customers. I like that they are also tuning their recipes towards those who are more health conscious.

The Kueh Lapis has a soft texture. Though I like my Kueh Lapis sweeter (I find theirs not sweet enough), I appreciate that it probably is healthier with lesser sugar smile My favourite is the Fried Yam Cake. We were amazed at how soft the inside is. Fabulous with a semi crusty exterior. You could taste how generous they are with their ingredients. And it taste somewhat like those Grandma's Yam Cake. My parents-in-law also enjoyed this. Fried Popiah is not bad too - generous filling! But because these items are fried, so they probably leave a little oily feel. Which can be resolved by using some kitchen paper towels ;p

MooJaa Smile Nov 08, 2013

I quite like the decor of the restaurant, very suitable for big group of gathering, or family dinners. I am most impressed with the Lemongrass Drink, and how crispy the bbq chicken meat can be (yet still juicy on the inside).

Sometimes I crave for BBQ, but gets disappointed to get clumpy and fatty meat. At MooJaa, I was quite happy to see swirls of fats on the meat, that melts to really thin, lean BBQ meat. My favourite would be the chicken meat and Angus beef. I could also enjoyed tasting the original wholesome taste of meat - not just the marinate smile You'll be happy to know that MooJaa's meat won't be clumpy, and is MSG free.

I also quite like their cheese balls, but I guess 1 serving would be good for 2 pax sharing.

On the overall, yummy food, but I still get a little bit of that BBQ smell on my hair and clothes ;p

Went there for dinner with family on a Sunday evening. I was a little apprehensive about the restaurant, since it's almost like Marche's concept. But I was quite surprised with the quality of food there.

We ordered Hawaiian pizza, Aglio Olio, Beef Skewer, Kebab with Olive Rice, Rosti, Lobster, and Chocolate Cake for sharing. I particularly love the thin crust pizza, beef skewer and kebab. The (chicken) kebab is a must try!

The rosti and chocolate cake tasted decent, but I was expecting something more. Overall, worth a visit, and I might just return for big gathering.
