Domino's pizza (delivered)  Smile Sep 14, 2013

Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

Had the $22 for 2 pizza deal for dinner today. Delivery was prompt and it came pipping hot!The pizzas I ordered were Hawaiian pizza (with classic hand tossed crust) and The Big BBQ (with new york crust).

The Big BBQ pizza was nice, with a strong bbq taste, as can be seen by the amount of bbq sauce drizzled on top of the pizza. The crust was just nice, not too thin/thick, hence, providing enough flavor in each bite while filling the tummy.

The Hawaiian pizza was aromatic and tasted much better than it looked. Its dull appearance was partially attributed to the fact that the ingredients were embedded under the layer of cheese. As the pizza was made with classic hand tossed crust, it was thicker and chewier, but nevertheless, the crust is nice enough (not greasy) to be eaten even on its own.

Overall, it was another enjoyable experience from domino's pizza although I would have love my pizza to be loaded with more ingredients (but for that price in singapore, I am not exactly complaining though! tongue)

This place has quite a homely ambience which I like. The ambience was matched with the presentation of the food, which just makes one feel rather warm. However, prices are not really cheap though.

I ordered the ebi seiro set, which comprised of steamed rice with tiny shrimps, some grated pumpkin, pickles, miso soup and some cabbage soup.

The tiny shrimps were mildly flavored but still a joy to eat with the warm rice. The miso soup is one of the nicest I ever had, it was packed with some tofu and chicken bits too! As for the cabbage soup, well, I am not a fan of soggy overcooked cabbage, so I did not enjoy it.

Overall, the meal just makes one feel satisfied without the sin of health damaging 'bad food'.

I will definitely come back here again!

Dinner at the soup spoon Smile Sep 14, 2013

Visited the soup spoon on 13 sept for dinner. The restaurant was pretty crowded at 6:30, and it heightens at 7:00, with around 5 people waiting for available seats in the restaurant (understandable since it has a pretty limited seating area).

I ordered the Simon & Garfunkel chicken ragout set meal and chose a (1/2) fish taco wrap with a coke light ($12.9 in total). It looked like curry veg but taste totally different from curry. Far from being spicy, it was a thick and flavorful soup! The entire bowl of soup was choked with ingredients, ranging from many potato, chicken and different types of mushrooms. It was worth the price and definitely one of the best western soups i ever had! The soup itself came with a small piece of bread, which was nothing much to rave about though.

Moving onto the fish taco wrap, I have to say it takes an acquired tastebud to appreciate this unique wrap. It has a mild spicy and slight sour taste every bite, which is attributed to the spices used. It was also surprising to find peach slices and raisins inside the wrap. shocked

I finished the meal, feeling very bloated. The soup alone with that small piece of bread would have been enough for a meal. Unless you are a big eater, u might wana consider ordering just the soup only ($8).

There is no service charge required for dine in and all the prices are already inclusive of GST.

Ramen at men-ichi Smile Oct 13, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

This place can be rathered crowded even on a weekday night. The limited seating means that it is not a place for dwelling too long. Food is served rather promptly and tables are cleared pretty fast.

On this night, my partner and I ordered the shoyu tonkotsu ramen, which was approximately $15 each. It came with some slices of char siew, which was well-flavored. As for the soup, it was strong, without being too salty. The portion size was decent enough for a single person eating.

chicken bibimbap Smile Oct 10, 2013
Categories : Korean | Food Court

The Korean food here is prepared by Korean and is authentic yet reasonably priced. Long queues are expected during Peak hours. However, it is totally worth waiting.

I ordered a chicken bibimbap set ($4.5), it came with rice, soup and a small serving of kimchi and anchovies each.

The chicken was well marinated and had a mild spicy taste without being too hot. It complements well with the rice and makes a good filling meal. The soup was light on the palate and could be added to the rice to make it less dry. As for the kimchi and anchovies, the only regret was its small portion.

It was really worthwhile at just $4.50. smile
