omelette OK Jun 07, 2013

An offshoot of the famous Awfully Chocolate chain, Loola's serves up standard brunch items and desserts. I tried the omelette and I found it normal. There is cheese bits scattered at the top. The omelette itself was sufficiently fluffy although the toast could have been warmer and crunchier. The service however was excellent with the servers prompt to refill the drinks. The dessert, some kind of chocolate tart thingy, was fantastic but rather expensive..

seafood fried rice OK Jun 06, 2013
Categories : Japanese

If you are a fan of seafood fried rice, try Sangokushi Ryoriya. The rice used here is the Japanese type, not too sticky and yet flavourful. The fried rice is also not too oily unlike many other places that add too much soy sauce and oil that makes the fried rice taste utterly disgusting. The portions were also generous, with a plate of seafood fried rice feeding two persons comfortably.

strawberry strudel OK Jun 06, 2013

I was craving for a strudel and happened to pass by the new food haunt of Upper Thomson. Lo and behold there was Ritz Apple Strudel and Pastry. I decided to try the strawberry strudel after seeing quite a few buy it. The verdict? It wasn't too bad. The strudel was sufficiently crunchy although the strawberry taste could well have been richer and thicker. We ordered two pieces and it was just enough for 3 persons to share.

excellent steak OK Jun 06, 2013

I am a fan of steak, especially when cooked medium-rare. Stellar at One-Altitude serves up a pretty good steak but it is very expensive. The steak here was served up in a hot plate, with some weird tasting side which I've yet to figure out. The other sides like grilled potatoes were good. As for the steak itself, it is pretty divine if you like medium-rare. The juices were oozing out and the steak was not over-cooked and grilled just right.

BBQ fish OK Jun 06, 2013

If you like BBQ stingray, you may want to try this stall when you visit Changi Village. This stall physically occupies two stalls at the newly renovated Changi Village. I think the stingray is only somewhat fresh because I can still taste the fishiness in the stingray. The BBQ stingray also seemed slightly overcooked with some parts of the meat rather hard. I like the sambal sauce though because it has a tinge of sweetness.
