Roasted meat delights OK Jul 18, 2013

We had the roasted meat platter. It was really quite ordinary in my humble opinion. The roasted pork was somewhat lackluster and more fatty than crispy. The meat was quite hard. The char siew was also very fatty despite us asking for the lean pieces. The peanuts were certainly the best part of the dish as they were crispy and absorbed the juices well. I have certainly tasted much better char siew and roasted pork from other places

Chicken ramen OK Jul 18, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

In this bowl of chicken broth ramen with lava egg, there was a piece of char siew, a chicken leg and black fungus. Seaweed can be had as well, but I asked for it to be omitted). The grilled chicken leg was similar to any ordinary chicken. Char siew was too lean and tough for my liking. Chicken broth was flavorful, but I think I still prefer tonkotsu pork soup. Chicken ramen soup just seems really weird.

Bandung OK Jul 18, 2013
Categories : Food Court

I past by this busy food court and decided to grab a drink on an extremely hot day. I decided to have iced Bandung (rose syrup in milk). There were already rows of prepared drinks and the counter staff told me to take one from there. But the prepared ones were not cold anymore so I asked them to make me a new one. Somewhat unhappy, they decided to do so anyway.

Luckily I asked them to make one because at $1.50, this Bandung was quite expensive. The bandung tasted fine and not overly sweet (which would be if too much condensed milk was added). Just remember to get a new cup next time.

Another takeaway!  OK Jul 18, 2013

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pasta | Pizza

Feeling hungry, we decided to grab takeaway and eat in comfort. We had the TARA pizza that comes with tomato, egg, bacon, button mushrooms and lots of mozzarella. If you are a fan of mozzarella, then ask for more here. The egg was a rather weird combination and did not sit at all well. The button mushrooms were however good. The crispy chicken wings came with honey sauce and were good, although a tad too expensive.

healthy living OK Jun 27, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

I decided to live healthily for once and Japanese food is a good place to start. A better dish to eat will most certainly be salad and I had the salmon salad at Sushi Tei. Sushi Tei at Paragon is relatively quiet on afternoons and thus a good place to chill. The salmon sashimi was very fresh and therefore a pleasure for sashimi aficionados. The cut was a little too thick. The rest of the ingredients were also quite fresh except for the lettuce which tasted somewhat sour.
