Not too bad as a cafe OK Jul 25, 2013
Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes

Quarter to Three is a cosy little cafe helmed by a chef that supposedly specialises in making pastries. Indeed, this seemed to show as the cakes we were having was of pretty top notch quality. We had this super chocolately cake that will delight all chocolate lovers. The chocolate was very dense and thick, and the cake simply melted in the mouth. For around 8 dollars, this was considered as decent compared to many other cafes.

Nothing exceptional OK Jul 25, 2013

Categories : Fusion

This is an old school wannabe place with emphasis seemingly on decor rather than the food. I am not saying the food is horrible. Far from it, it was decent. Just not outstanding to warrant a special trip although I might drop by if I am in the area and craving for desserts. We had the warm strawberry shortcake which was a tad too expensive at 9 dollars without being exceptional. It came across as

too sweet.

Interesting concept OK Jul 25, 2013

This new Thai food place sees quite a huge lunchtime crowd. Serving up food in tingkat, this is indeed a throwback to the old days. Food wise, it was pretty decent. The set menu costs 9.90SGD and you can pick 3 dishes in the tingkat portion so that's good for sharing. The tom yum soup was pretty good. Not too fiery yet sour enough with good portions of ingredients. We also liked the fried chicken that was very fragrant. Will certainly be back.

Good kway chap OK Jul 25, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop

This stall serves up mixed rice in the day and at night serves up bowl after bowl of piping hot kway chap. This kway chap stall is pretty good. The sauce itself is not too salty and there is a tinge of sweetness. The kway in the kway chap is smooth, although can get quite big piece to eat. The intestines were good. I particularly liked the small intestines because they were very chewy. For about $7, this feeds 2 persons comfortably.

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

I came back again to have the basic tonkotsu ramen with lava egg, from Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King. This place allows customers to customize their ramen to some extent. One can choose from different levels of hardness of the noodle, strength of the soup etc. I chose the strongest taste for the soup, and the hardest possible noodle. The noodles itself was ok but the pork broth was much better than the chicken broth. The pork meat was also rather lean and melts in the mouth. This bowl of noodles costs around $17++.
