meepok OK Jun 08, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Noodles

Singaporeans are fans of meepok. This is evidenced by the long queue I experienced in the morning whilst queuing for a bowl of dried meepok. I like this meepok because it is not sticky despite being cooked and therefore make for a tangy bowl of noodles. They are generous with their ingredients as well which makes this bowl value for money. The fishballs are tasty and I can certainly eat another bowl. I will be back for more.

simple food OK May 04, 2013

Food should not be too complex. Ajisen Ramen serves up acceptable ramen at pocket-friendly prices. I liked my ramen, with the bean sprouts very very crunch and the soup broth rich and delicious. The carrots were also surprisingly fresh and the soft-boiled egg was very well done. I will certainly be back for more for a quick and fuss-free lunch set that is not painful on the pocket.

Chai Latte OK Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Australian / New Zealand | Café

Now Chai Latte is a easy to make but difficult to succeed drink. The chai itself must be brewed at the correct temperature and the milk portion added just right. Toby's Estate Chai Latte was excellent. The chai taste was really strong, so non-fans of chai better stay away. I liked the spiciness of the latte which still shone through despite the milk added. The 'art' itself was also somewhat commendable for the effort made.

Alaskan snow crab and oysters OK Apr 23, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Fusion | Multi-Cuisine | Seafood | Buffet | Kids-Friendly

If you like alaskan snow crabs and oysters, this is the place to go for free flow of both. The snow crab legs were really huge and very fresh. The meat was sweet enough With lots of juices in every bite. The oysters were also very fresh without the brine taste being too overpowering. But they had a 2 per person each time limit to prevent hogging. The rest of the buffet spread was decent. Deserving mention includes the macarons and I particularly liked the Baked salmon

vanilla latte OK Apr 20, 2013
Categories : American | Coffee

On a nice but rainy dreamy afternoon, what's better than a cuppa of nice piping hot latte? A vanilla latte from Starbucks. The newly renovated branch at Raffles City serves up a mean vanilla latte. I can smell and taste the vanilla essence and the milky taste is not overpowering. The serving size seems a lot larger than the usual cups and comes in a cool cute round shape cup too. Try it (on a rainy day)!
