This place has been reviewed and blogged countless times so decided to make time for a trip down to see what exactly the hype was. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The crabby maki ordered was very ordinary. I thought that the mayo seemed overdone and made the entire taste too queasy. Mayo fans will like this dish I guess. The crab itself was quite little and the roe itself was not totally fresh.

Food for Thought  (Bugis)

I had sudden cravings for mussels and was lucky that Food for Thought happened to be serving mussels as their special. The pasta itself was normal. What I really liked was the fresh mussels which lacked a distinct musty foul-smelling taste that not fresh mussels often carry. The sauce itself was excellent. My only complaint was that for its price, the mussels could have been more.

Singaporeans are fans of meepok. This is evidenced by the long queue I experienced in the morning whilst queuing for a bowl of dried meepok. I like this meepok because it is not sticky despite being cooked and therefore make for a tangy bowl of noodles. They are generous with their ingredients as well which makes this bowl value for money. The fishballs are tasty and I can certainly eat another bowl. I will be back for more.

Jaggi's Northern Indian Cuisine  (Little India)

Indian food carries lots of spices and curries, all of which make for an extremely flavourful meal. Jaggi's Northern Indian Cuisine does the spices pretty well. We tried their thosai and find that it is tasty and not overly stuffed with flour that leaves you with a bloated experience. I like the curry (not sure if it is vegetarian or meat) because it is not overly oily and goes well with prata. Service is prompt. We will be back.

Paul Bakery is an upscale bakery in Ngee Ann City but the food itself is not exceptional to warrant a second visit thus far. The service is much better than its opening days and our water was constantly refilled by polite waiters / waitresses. As for the food itself, I tried the Strawberry and Mixed Fruit Tartes but found the pastry cream too overwhelmingly sweet. The fruit however was still quite fresh. Maybe it was just an off day and I might be back again.
