La mian OK Jul 18, 2013

I was craving for some la mian and Crystal Jade La Mian @ Holland Village came to my mind so I decided to try it. The sauce itself was pretty good, as it was sweet and sour at the same time and came with a generous serving of vegetables. The noodles itself was quite springy and done pretty well although one may complain some were a tad too thick. One would have to mix up the noodles with the sauce properly for a good and relatively affordable meal at around $12.

Latte Cry Jul 18, 2013

This greenish-milky drink is Gong Cha’s iced green tea latte. Costing a grand $3.20, it was totally not worth its price. The green tea taste was way too artificial, and tasted more like green tea syrup rather than the authentic matcha taste. It was also by far too milky and therefore the entire drink tasted more akin to a green tea flavoured cough mixture. It was too sweet despite me asking for only 25% sugar. Skip if possible.

Catered food OK Jul 18, 2013

Company decided to be nice and cater food for its employees today. The catered food from Elsie's Kitchen however was so-so. The vegetables were really tasteless after being mass-cooked. It was completely too soggy and too much moisture. The fried stuff was also very unhealthy and tasteless. The sausage was too artificial whereas the fried ngoh hiang had too much base ingredients rather than the shrimp taste that should have been inside.

cakes OK Jul 18, 2013

Cedele prides itself for making good cakes using healthy ingredients and it has a pretty decent selection of cakes. The carrot walnut is very good. The cream cheese frosting went very well with the moist carrot cake and it was not overly sweet. The Dark Chocolate fudge, a cake made up of 3 layers of very dark chocolate with chocolate frosting, was also excellent because the cake itself was very thick and filling, with obvious good quality chocolate being used. A sure delight for chocolate lovers.

Han’s is a well established western/local food chain in Singapore. I decided not to try the western food but instead go for the local delights. This was a simple fare soup bee hoon with fish balls. The soup itself was average because there was not much flavor in it although that probably made for a much healthier meal. The fish balls were pretty good, being rather tangy and chewy. The fried shallots, surprisingly, were very crunchy and went down well with the entire dish. Overall, not too bad.
