DB Burger Smile Jul 18, 2013

Bistro Moderne serves up top notch French cuisine (along with top prices) by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud. I tried the Original db Burger which was a sirloin burger that has foie gras and braised short ribs in them. The bun itself was wonderfully fluffy and simply excellent. The sirloin steak was served medium rare, a wonderful experience. The most outstanding part was however the foie gras which literally melted in my mouth. A wonderful experience.

Chicken wings Smile Jul 18, 2013

The coffee in Lola’s café seemed really popular and we had a cappuccino and latte. The cappuccino was good. The coffee was well-brewed. The latte however came across as slightly too milky but still pretty good. We had a chocolately looking donut which was pretty decent. Hardcore chocolate fans would surely love this. We also had the delicious fried chicken wings which won us over because it was not too oily and the skin was really crispy. Try the brunch menu (available on afternoons only)!

pork knuckle OK Jul 18, 2013

Baden Restaurant and Pub is known for its German pub-inspired cuisine. We tried the pork knuckle and it was pretty good. The meat was quite flavourful and very tender. The variety of German beers offered here was also quite extensive. The furnishing of this place is also quite interesting, as few places are furnished using wood. We also ordered the fried platter that comes with standard bar food. The onion rings were too soggy unfortunately. The rest were acceptable.

Interesting decor OK Jul 18, 2013

Dallas Restaurant and Bar is conveniently situated (for the Raffles Place crowd) at Boat Quay. The furnishing is really quirky and American-inspired: on the first floor is that of a cowboy-theme whereas the second floor has a classy theme much akin to a restaurant. The bar snacks were not too bad, albeit a little expensive. We had the salt and pepper calamari. The squid is very chewy and encapsulated in a delicious batter. We also had fried chicken which we found was as good as the fried calamari.

Truffle fries OK Jul 18, 2013

I was craving for a snack so decided to head towards PS Café. I ordered the French Onion Soup and found it mediocre unfortunately. The onion taste was way too strong and therefore really unbearable. The garlic bread could also have been more crispier if it was freshly baked rather than being heated up. I also had their famous truffle fries and that fared much better. The fries were really crispy and the truffle taste was evident and divine.
