curry beef rice Smile Jul 09, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Curries

The rice arrived in a huge plate with my rice swimming in a half-filled pool of hot curry. I was glad this shop was generous with their gravy because that is the way how an actual curry rice dish should be. The curry sauce was indeed thick, tasty and a tad spicy, so good that I finished all of it, not even wanting to waste one tiny bit of it. The beef chunks were quite huge, tender and had no signs of chewiness. A little personal disappointment is the use of long grain rice instead of Japanese rice.

Battered Dory Burger Smile Jul 09, 2013   (Related Review)

Battered Dory Burger - $15.80
This is literally fish and chips between two toasted buns.
The renkon slices (lotus stem) were an interesting addition I thought, tasting pleasantly like tapioca chips, light and crispy.
The battered dory was pretty good even on its own, crispy on the outside while remaining a moisturising softness within.
The spicy-sweet tartar sauce turned out to a nice surprise for our taste buds and left a slight tinkling numbness on our tongues.
And the burger buns were surprisingly good, with nutty grains and seeds within.

white carrot cake Smile Jun 20, 2013

The carrot cake was fried to a delightful starchy crisp with a generous amount of eggs that covered most of the small pieces of carrot cake and is not oily.
The eggs together with the garlic gave it a very strong aroma and with the sprinkled spring onions its even better.
The chilli seems to be quite little amount but is nice.
With all of it eaten together, the aroma it emits make you finish all up without realizing and will crave for more.

Black Pepper Chicken Chop Smile Jun 20, 2013

Just like usual chicken chop dish, it includes a chicken chop, fries and salad.
Without the fantastic sauce, it might taste just like any other tender chicken chop you can find in a western food stall.
The black pepper gravy really has a lot peppery taste and went really well with the tender chicken chop, fries and salad.
The fries has the type of thickness that I like and since it contains black pepper bits, definitely a plus for me.
The salad itself taste ordinary but thanks to the black pepper sauce, it taste more special.

java chip frappucino Smile Jun 20, 2013

Categories : American | Coffee

The Java Chip frap is chocolate and java chips, combined with coffee, milk and blended with ice.
It’s then topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
I got chocolate chips in just about every sip.
It reminded me of a luscious chocolate chip ice cream.
The only thing I didn’t like is that the chocolate chips are likely to become stuck in the straw.
This drink totally hit the spot taste wise, a nice blend with the espresso.
It even became tastier when melted.
