fish n chips Smile Jul 11, 2013

Personally, I prefer the fish & chips from Fish & Co compared to the Manhattan Fish Market, in terms of taste and varieties. Fish & Co serves their fish n chips in a variety of stuffing and sauces for you to choose from, I took quite a long time before deciding on New York fish & chips. Before i started eating, I was kind of starving, but after eating halfway I was already full. The batter was crispy and fragrant and the fish meat was really fresh and sweet. Perhaps because the fish is stuffed with cheese, i felt the thirst just halfway through. The fries were tasty and not too oily.

Braised Pork Belly Rice Smile Jul 11, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese

The highlight was the aromatic and tender pork bellies which wasn’t overly fatty. The rice was nice and fluffy and matched well with the gravy which was robust with spices. The additional pickles were crunchy and mildly spicy and complemented the rice well too. However, the braised egg was a tad dry but it’s sufficiently infused with the flavors of braising stock.

Huge burger Smile Jul 11, 2013

Categories : European | Café

This burger is quite huge, or maybe because of the buns which make it look huge.
The buns are sprinkled with a generous amount of sesame seeds, on both the top and bottom buns, and are especially darker than other many other fast food chains burger buns.
The outer crust of the buns tasted a little sweet and the inner part were soft and fluffy.
The mushroom sauce was very flavourful and in generous amount, and so are the mushroom slices.
The bacon slices were quite large pieces and are quite crunchy with not too much fat.
The beef patty however seemed small when being sandwiched between two huge buns and other generous amount ingredients, and the taste of the patty kind of being covered over by the flavourful mushroom sauce. Overall, this burger is still really good.

fried carrot cake Smile Jul 11, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

The thinly fried eggs are lightly fried until light brown and the chewy chunks of flour cake are moist and springy, though some might find them too soft.
The sambal chilli is lightly spicy without being overpowering.
The spring onions complemented the flour cakes really well and added some crunch to the dish.
Overall, this dish is not too salty nor too oily, which is good.

fried kway teow Smile Jul 11, 2013

This fried kway teow was absolutely delicious! The serving was indeed quite generous for $3, and the kway teow was neither too oily nor dry for any one to dislike. In an essence, it was done just right - well balanced and moist enough. Each bite you take is a savoury one, the hum were fresh and tasty, the fish cakes were springy and the sprouts added crunch to the whole dish.
