hokkien mee Smile Jun 08, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Did not feel like eating outside thus I decided to take away fried hokkien mee for dinner at the hawker centre near my location.
The portion given was quite large and I tend to eat lesser for dinner thus I did not finish all up.
The ingredients given are quite generous too.
The proportion of thick bee hoon to mee is 3:2, but I would prefer equal amount though.
The wetness is just nice.

curry mutton Smile Jun 08, 2013

Curry, yummy, I love curry. Curry vegetable, curry mee, curry chicken, curry mutton, whatever curry, just serve them to me.
Since I like curry so much, how can I not order their curry mutton.
The curry is richer and thicker compared to those coffee shop standard, and goes especially well with pratas, not only the pratas sold in the restaurant, but any pratas.
The muttons are well cooked, tender and chewy.
Since the muttons are in bite sizes, pop one into your mouth and with one spoon of curry, yummy.

popeyes OK Jun 08, 2013

I am not a fan of popeyes's cajun fries, I like my fries to be on the thinner side, like those of mcdonald's fries, but popeyes's fries are more on the thicker side and is soft and soggy, even the seasonings in the fries cannot help the overall taste of the fries, the texture kinda spoilt the whole thing.
Also, unlike mcdonald's fries, popeye's fries have a coating outside their fries, I prefer it to be without the coating though.

Popeyes buttermilk biscuits are a hit or miss. The biscuits' taste and texture are inconsistent during almost every of my visits.
Sometimes, their biscuit can look golden brown, then sometimes it can look plain yellow.
Sometimes, their biscuit can taste fragrant, then sometimes it can taste bland (especially the inside of the biscuit).
Sometimes, their biscuit can be crunchy, then sometimes it just feel kind of rubbery.
But, I shall say it tasted really fragrant and crunchy during the ‘my-best-popeyes-biscuit-experience’ trip.

The ice cream is like those normal vanilla ice cream with chocolate coating, just that it is mini version and able to put the whole mini ice cream into my mouth.

The mash potato does taste different from KFC's, its sauce is the main difference, it taste a little sweet with a tinge of spice.

Coleslaw wise, nothing special, taste like normal kfc coleslaw.

Ordered coke for my drink, you cant go wrong with a coke.

GREEB BEAN PASTE PASTRY OK Jun 08, 2013
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre

Passed by this confectionary shop and decided to get myself a box of green bean paste pastry.
There are two flavours available at the same price, $1.90, and they are salty green bean paste pastry and pandan flavoured green bean paste pastry, I chose the pandan flavoured one as the salty version is too mainstream, and anyway, I like pandan flavoured foods.
The pastry tastes nice, the filling really gives off pandan taste every bite, however, the pastry skin is quite thick and tasteless, thus my eating method is to peel off the outer pastry skins and left with a thinner pastry skin.

PRAWN SCALLOP SPAGHETTI OK Jun 08, 2013

Categories : Italian | Pasta

Was shopping around City Hall and decided to find a restaurant nearby for a dinner fix, chanced upon this restaurant and my friends and I decided to try it out.
Quite a huge varieties of pastas to choose from, and finally decided on the pasta shown on the image (forgot the actual name of the dish) and it cost $22.90.
The pasta comes with prawns and scallops and they taste quite fresh.
The pasta is nothing special and the sauce is okok too..
