If only i was still a kid, i would definitely bug my parents to bring me to Amazonia Singapore and perhaps even throw my birthday parties there. This place is definitely the place for the young-at-hearts, with some cool activities you can do there and not forgetting the tasty food at their bistro. This OpenRice food tasting invite allows me to relieve my time as a kid and

The place was quite easy to find, located at Level 3 of Great World City. However, access to Great World is a bit inconvenient though, unless the Great World MRT Station opens earlier before year 2021. If you have got kids, this is definitely the place where you will want to bring them to, allowing them to play on their own while giving yourself some time to chat with your friends or shop around.
We tried a total of 4 dishes + 1 drink (Apple Juice) and my personal favourite are their Chef Nasi Goreng & Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream. The Nasi Goreng was spicy to my liking and the satay meat was tender, but i thought that the chicken drumstick was so-so only though. As for the Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream, the cake iself was soft and delicious. If only they have some chocolate sauce in it and the portion of the ice cream given can be slightly bigger.
I am not a fan of salad, but i thought the dressing for their Ceasar Salad with Avocado was good. As for the Spicy Garlic Tiger Prawn, the prawn itself was huge and i especially like the sambal chili that goes along with it. If they have the option to change their plain rice for this dish for the Nasi Goreng, i would definitely go for it!

After the tasting session, we were given a tour around the premises, and of course given the chance to try their Spaceball & 3D Glow Golf. The rooms for these 2 activities glow-in-the-dark, and even the adults can play too! The Spaceball was fun but after a while, it sort of got boring as we only have to aim & shoot for the stationary targets. It would have been better if the targets are mobile, but you can always try and shoot your friends too! For the 3D Glow Golf, the place is huge with 9 stations/holes, each with its own obstacles (Moving Dinosaur/Pirates etc). The wall murals here were all hand-painted! Took quite a while for us to complete all 9 holes, but definitely a fun and enjoyable experience!

Do give this place a visit if you are around the area, or if you are planning for any events! =)

When i heard that Wildfire Burger was in Singapore, i had always wanted to find a time t try it. Thankfully i was being invited by OpenRice for their food tasting session, which allow me to try it before my original schedule.

The restaurant itself was qite easy to find, just outside of 313 Somerset. However, the lighting there wasn't really suitable for food photography, and we had to use some spotlight to light-up our food in order to take a good shot. Nonetheless, the ambience was quite good for a relax meal after work with your friends.

We tried a total of 7 dishes and my personal favourite are their Southern Style Fried Chicken & Sichuan Fries. The fried chickens are very crispy and juicy, and dipping them in maple syrup is indeed an unique way to eat fried chicken. Surprisingly they tasted a lot better than expected, as the syrup was not too sweet and cover the oilyness of the chicken. As for the Sichuan Fries, there wasn't really any taste until the after-effect kicks in. Our tongue started feeling numb with tingling feeling, and we attributed it to the Sichuan pepper in the dish. Not a lot of people like it, but strangely it was my favourite. My tolerance for spicy food is quite high, and this was something i have never tried before (unlike any other Sichuan Food where the spiciness kicks in immediately).

There was also the Black Ebi Burger & Truffled Mushroom Burger. The prawn patty in the Black Ebi Burger was extremely fresh and juicy, however i did not really like the squid ink injected into the burger (not a big fan). The Truffled Mushroom Burger includes truffle oil and truffled mushroom with a thick and juicy beef patty.

We tried their Curry Fries, Chili Cheese Fries & Sriracha Glazed Fried Chicken as well. Curry Fries was flavourful but a little salty; Chili Cheese Fries wasn't too spicy at all while Sriracha Glazed Fried Chicken was a little too oily and not spicy for my likings.

Overall it was quite a pleasant dining experience and i would certainly bring my friends back to try some of their unique menu. For those who like burgers, fries & fried chicken, this is definitely a place not to miss out! =)

I have never been to Harry's before. So it was indeed my honour to be able to join OpenRice for their Food Tasting session @ Harry's Clark Quay. This is their latest outlet where their interior design takes on inspiration from Harry’s travels and adventures around the world. We could see maps, postcards and items from all over the world as deco in Harry's, and there is this quote at the storefront which i like quite a lot - "Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer". To me, i feel that food is another thing we buy that could make us richer as well (No just getting richer in terms of calories & fats haha xp)! From food, we get to find out more about the various ethnicity and culture through taste, as well as meeting new friends who bond over food! While travelling, we must definitely try the food in those other countries right? Hence i guess nothing is more suitable than placing this quote in a restaurant/bar where one could bond and chillout with friends over food and drinks =)

We tried a few dishes from a range of their revamped menu (Over 50 new items!) and i must say some of the food are really good! Worth mentioning are their Chicken Masala & Harry's Signature Wings, which are my personal favourite.

Their Chicken Masala was presented in a traditional Indian pot, with a few pieces of charcoal bread by the side. It is amazing how the chicken meat can be so soft, and we found out that it was actually grilled first before cooking in the pot of masala. The flavour of the spice is not too overpowering and goes really well with the bread, or even drink it on its own. Would personally prefer the masala to be a little more spicier though (Good to have this option people who like spicy food). At $23++, this is a great dish to be share amongst friends.

Another of my favourite, the Harry's Signature Wings, was indeed their best finger food to have. The wings are crispy on the outside and the meat are tender on the inside. With their unique Home-made chilli jam this is indeed a must try for all spicy food lovers! Other finger snacks served include Fish Cracklings with a special Garlic Mayo sauce (Personally not a huge fan of fish skins and mayo though), and the Crab & Potato Cakes which are really exquisite with the Sriracha sauce. These finger food goes really well with the Harry's Premium Lager (Not featured), and are good for sharing with your friends over a few glasses of beer!

Next up are the Jalapeno Steak Sliders and Crab Spaghettini. The mini grilled steak burgers are served in 3s, which are easy to bite and gobble down although we heard that we are suppose to savour it slowly in order to taste the tinge of heat of the Jalapeno inside. The Crab Spaghettini was good, although i would personally prefer it to be stronger in flavour. As it is a tomato-base pasta, the tomato flavour could have been stronger. I could taste the fresh crab meat inside as well, although some of us had prefer it to be in larger chunk.

We were served the Dirty Harry - Harry's signature cocktail of vodka with brown sugar, lime wedges and lychee liquer. I personally like this drink a lot, as it has a refreshing and fruity taste, and i could taste the little bits of sugar as well. Dessert was Toffee Apple Crisp Tart with Moscato - A sparkling wine with fruity taste. Dessert was good although the tart was not really crisp though, but it does go well together with the Moscato.

Do visit their new outlet @ClarkeQuay if you are looking for an adventure or some place to chillout with friends after work. Would defnitely love to be back there again to try some of the other dishes as well! =)

1st time trying the pancakes here with my friends. We were there quite early before their evening opening time as we heard there will be long queue, and true enough, even before they open in the evening, there was already some people queuing up outside, and more coming after we had queued.

They have quite a lot of variety of pancakes, but i order their peanut butter one with kinder bueno as i myself feel that it might be weird for a salty pancake. My friends ordered their prawn one and some other which we did not take much photos of, as we were busy enjoying the pancakes when they arrived lol.

Their pancakes were very good and filling, but the pricing might be a little expensive for just pancakes alone.

The queue were quite fast before dinner time at around 5pm when we were there, around 30min or so.

We ordered quite a lot for 5 people and ended up eating until so full.

Their char siew bao is highly recommended, together with their carrot cake which taste very different from other places. We love the exterior of the bun, and the BBQ Pork filling was quite a lot and delicious. But sadly each person can only order 3.

The steamed egg cake is soft and fluffy, but not really to our likings as we seldom eat this outside.

Lastly, for dessert, we had their Osmanthus Jelly, which was very good!

The other dishes which we ordered were quite ok. They even give you boxes to pack the food back home at no additional charges if you can finish all of them!

Not every time there will be a long queue there, especially with the recent opening of their second outlet. So do go there and try the famous char siew bao!
