Our last stop of the day at Kranji Countryside was at Bollywood Veggies. After covering the goat farm and the frog farm, it was around noon, just in time for lunch!

At Poison Ivy, a bistro at Bollywood Veggies, you can choose to be seated at the air-conditioned indoor seats or outdoor non air-con seats. As the weather was very hot on that day, we decided to have our lunch indoor. We could still see the beautiful greenery by looking out the transparent walls.

Updated menu was written on a black board at the wall so before getting seated, you could see all the newly arrived guests walking towards this "special menu" to see what was being served. Price was very reasonable, with most of the dishes ranging from $4 to $8, with no additional GST and service charge.

We ordered warriors Chicken Curry ($8). No coconut milk was used for this dish.

Moringa Tempura ($4)
This was a very good snack, crunchy and really addictive. Moringa leaves are very rich in calcium, which is said to contain 4 times the amount in milk!

I decided to try the brown rice as it looked healthier.

The dishes that we ordered for ourselves (2 pax). For drinks, we ordered their fig drink and lemongrass drink.

November is an extremely busy month for me with lots of celebration and of course, feasting. I suggested to my family this Thai restaurant to celebrate my birthday after reading reviews from many food bloggers. This restaurant was not very crowded on a weekend afternoon and we didn't need to wait very long for all the dishes to be served. I DREAD long waits especially when you need to queue or wait for more than half an hour with a growling stomach just to get a seat in the restaurant.

Hey! This was the first time I was being served rice moulded in heart shape! Ok... it was not because I got special treatment for my birthday, as long as you order rice, you will also get this. tongue

BBQ Pork (Moo Yang)
- Nicely marinated pork meat, goes well with the special sauce provided.

Sauce for the fish being poured over it.

Overall, we all felt that the food at Jane Thai was not bad and of course, value-for-money.
We wanted to order dessert like red ruby or my favourite mango sticky rice, but on the day that we went, they only served tapioca. As such, we decided to adjourn to the ice-cream stall next door instead.

Kuriya Penthouse is one of the 2 restaurants located amid the roof garden, on the 12th level at Orchard Central. You will be greeted by a huge display of awards that they have at the entrance of the restaurant to assure you of both the food quality and service.

The chopsticks that they use are very special, with both sides all pointed. Out of curiosity, we asked one of the staff why they were designed in this manner. The staff told us that one side could be used for eating and the other side, supposedly longer and more pointed, could be used for stirring. They could also be used to pick up wet and dry seaweed.

The staff who was serving our table was attentive. She opened up a small stool for each of us to put our bag. I ordered Plum Wine on the Rock ($8) which came with a huge ball of ice!

I ordered the Shokado lunch set - "Tsubaki" ($42) which consisted of:

1) 3 kinds of Appetizer,
2) 3 types of Sashimi,
3) Omelette and Grilled Fish, and
4) Prawn and Vegetable Tempura.
Excellent!

Excellent!

The primary reason why I ordered this set was because I love sushi. This set comes with assorted sushi! smile

An enjoyable lunch to kick-start the "holiday"! We were satisfied with the quality of food served and also pleased with the good service provided by the staff.

Fried Doughs Smile Oct 03, 2013

I like to patronize this stall for breakfast. Their food were freshly fried and not oily. Today, I had the salted bun and it had a nice "swirl" design on it. Sometimes, I will also order their "you tiao". These are the 2 very popular options for breakfast and their "butterfly" bun is also not bad, very crispy and also not very oily. Thus, lesser sense of guilt eating them.

Au Chocolat @ Marina Bay Sands Smile Sep 28, 2013

My friend and I had wanted to order their waffles as there was a "50% off the 2nd waffles" promotion every Wednesday. However, to our disappointment, the waffles were not served at Au Chocolat bistro! We were told that the waffles were only served at Au Chocolat Confiserie which is located just next to the bistro. Thus, we decided to only the Kalamansi Meringue Tart ($9) and a Brownie ($5) to share amongst us instead in order to enjoy the comfortable seats at the bistro. The seats at the confiserie side are mostly high seats and we couldn't find a table big enough to accomodate 7 pax.

I love the tart but the crust was as hard as rock. No joke! Haha... Took me quite a lot of effort to break the crust! But overall, the taste of the sweet egg whites (meringue) went well with the tangy and sourish kalamansi curd.
